00:05 But there are many who are like that, including some who did not immediately know that they were not registered.

00:24 The Senators accused the Philippine Statistics Authority of neglecting the process and its verification.

00:43 According to the Philippine Statistics Authority, the birth certificate is processed at the level of the civil registrar and they have no participation in this.

01:26 According to the PSA, in 2022, more than 1.4 million people registered for birth certificates in the country.

01:43 In total, the PSA said, there are 3.7 million Filipinos without birth certificates.

01:49 The reason why a person's birth certificate is not registered immediately is because of a fraud.

01:59 The parents of the child became worried or they did not know that it was not registered.

02:56 It is a basic right of all people to have a sense of identity, proof of identity.
