A baby monkey had to be prised away from its dead mother after she was fatally electrocuted by a power line.
Ash, a baby howler monkey was rescued by the International Animal Rescue in Nosara, Costa Rica.
His mother was found dead in the coastal village of Samara - with her baby clinging to her dead body.
A horrific video shows rescuers forced to pull the infant away from its mum - to treat the little one's burns on its fingers.
The baby monkey is now in a stable condition and is being monitored with regular blood tests, following rescue on May 16, 2024.
