00:00 towards sustainable industrial areas that are environmentally friendly in Egypt.
00:05 This is a direction adopted by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization
00:09 in partnership with the Egyptian Ministry of Commerce and Industry
00:12 and funded by the Swiss government for economic issues.
00:15 The program aims to improve the industrial process by reducing environmental impact
00:20 in addition to reducing operating costs and enhancing production levels
00:25 while improving the use of resources in the operation and production processes,
00:29 as well as facilitating access to the necessary funding for sustainable industrial projects.
00:34 There are many products that go to important markets like European markets, for example.
00:39 It is required that the production sites are very closely monitored for all environmental specifications and requirements.
00:47 Egypt is committed to providing more industrial products,
00:52 and we have more markets and at the same time export. We must think about the requirements and requirements
00:59 and try to meet them as much as possible, and we are determined to comply with them and implement them.
01:05 It is true that this program relies on environmental practices, including the use of renewable energy,
01:10 waste treatment and the dependence on clean production technologies,
01:14 but it requires a strong cooperation between the government and the private sector
01:18 to raise awareness among investors and local companies
01:22 in the process of transitioning from traditional industrial areas to environmentally friendly industrial areas.
01:28 I think that with any transformation, the most important challenge in industrial transformation
01:37 is the way of thinking and the traditional ways of doing business that many companies follow.
01:43 They prefer to work in traditional ways because it is the way they know and know how to deal with.
01:50 What we are trying to do now is to help them change this way of thinking,
01:55 while the legislations and the rules that support this transformation into more sustainable and efficient activities are running in a balanced way.
02:05 The Egyptian government has implemented 139 industrial areas in different provinces,
02:11 and three sustainable industrial areas are currently being implemented,
02:14 namely the industrial area of Uraskum, the area of Boularees and the Rubiki complex in Jiloud.
02:19 So there are different efforts to transition to environmentally friendly industrial areas,
02:23 to ensure the use of resources efficiently and to enhance the production levels.
02:27 These areas allow investors to easily access funding and enhance investment in sustainable industrial development.
