AB de Villiers - The Test Batter #euphoriacricket

AB de Villiers is synonymous with 360-degree shots and quick runs, but he was an equally proficient Test batter. De Villiers showcased his traditional Test batting skills on two notable occasions.
The first was against Australia in Cape Town in 2014. Playing at home may have provided some advantage, but the second instance displayed true resilience and courage. Facing India in Delhi in 2015, he crafted an innings characterised by immense patience and determination. De Villiers expertly handled Umesh Yadav's pace, Ashwin's variations, and Jadeja's left-arm spin, playing numerous maiden overs. South Africa was chasing a daunting target of 481 runs.
Although Hashim Amla and Faf du Plessis provided some support at the top of the order, the South African batting lineup collapsed after their dismissals. De Villiers fought valiantly, batting for almost six hours in two days, and faced 297 balls. He nearly secured a draw for his team but a spinning delivery from Ashwin in the 140th over got him caught at leg slip.
