00:05 Glittering world of showbiz, longevity is a rare gem.
00:09 And only a few shine as brightly as Miss Connie Reyes.
00:13 She became a host in the 1975 Noontime Show, Student Canteen, here in GMA.
00:20 She followed the weekly anthology, Connie Reyes Drama Studio,
00:26 and this was the beginning of the countless TV series that she hosted and starred in.
00:33 She was known and given the title of "The One" in television and in movies.
00:38 And in 50 years, she became an inspiration to the artists she worked with.
00:45 More than being an artist, her career as a mother is the most important to her.
00:52 Hello Mama, congratulations on your 50th year in showbiz.
00:57 I remember that even if you're very skinny, you have work, you never forget to go to my basketball games or school activities.
01:09 You were always there. So thank you so much. Happy Mother's Day.
01:13 Happy 50th anniversary Mama, and happy, happy Mother's Day.
01:17 You are such a wonderful example to so many people of faith and excellence.
01:23 Congrats Lola, we really admire your dedication to your craft.
01:27 And we're really proud of you, all three of us, and we look up to you always.
01:32 Good job Lola.
01:34 Hi Ma, happy Mother's Day, advance happy birthday na rin.
01:39 And of course, congratulations on your golden anniversary in showbiz.
01:44 For me, the biggest part of your legacy aren't these awards and other accomplishments,
01:49 but it's really the number of lives you've touched through the years.
01:53 In the last five decades, you've touched so many lives, you've brought people closer to God,
01:58 you've been such a good example to everyone, and you've been a shining light in the industry.
02:04 Half a century of dedication to the industry,
02:10 five decades of showing unparalleled talent and dedication to the art of creation,
02:17 we're once again honored with the Philippine adaptation of the Korean drama series,
02:23 The Shining Inheritance.
02:25 Today is a special day for the mothers,
02:27 a gift from All Out Sundays to the one and only Miss Connie Reyes.
02:35 Celebrating her 50th anniversary here in showbiz,
02:41 the one and only Miss Connie Reyes!
02:46 We love you!
02:48 Wow, 50 years!
02:51 You can do it!
02:52 Thank you so much for being here and happy anniversary.
02:55 Would you like to say anything to the viewers?
02:58 Well, I have so much to say.
03:00 My heart is beating so fast.
03:02 Thank you all.
03:04 To GMA, to AOS, Miss Gigi,
03:08 thank you so much for putting this together.
03:10 The staff, the production crew, your director,
03:15 Miggy, show yourself to me, I haven't seen you in a while.
03:18 The last time I saw him, he was this high.
03:21 Or maybe this low.
03:24 No, I'm so happy.
03:26 And all of you, first of all, you all look so beautiful, so handsome, so gorgeous with your outfits.
03:33 I love the blue and pink thing.
03:35 But it's funny because Zephanie and Rita sang Miss Connie's trademark song, "It's My Turn".
03:42 You're still young, you don't know the story yet.
03:45 We'll find out later what "It's My Turn" means in your life.
03:51 But Miss Connie, you watched your family earlier who gave you a message.
03:55 What can you say?
03:57 I'm so blessed to have children like them.
04:01 And my grandchildren, I adore them.
04:03 They are my happiness.
04:05 They are the ones who give life to my life.
04:08 They are God's special blessings, gifts to me.
04:13 So, thank you to LA, to Vico,
04:18 Carla, I know she's a little shy to show her face to the camera.
04:21 Macy, she's a wonderful daughter-in-law.
04:26 God blessed me with the sweetest daughter-in-law.
04:30 And then Lorenzo, Mateo, Alejandro, I love them so much.
04:35 My life has more meaning because of them.
04:38 And actually, my sons told me, especially LA,
04:42 he was saying about my career,
04:45 he said, "Ma, you know, I kinda asked permission if I'm gonna do a project."
04:51 Not ask permission, just notify them.
04:53 And he said, "Ma..."
04:57 Oh, I'm gonna cry.
04:58 "We see you at your happiest when you're doing what you love, which is acting."
05:05 So, I'm still doing it.
05:09 They're very, very supportive.
05:11 Until the end of...what did you say?
05:13 Until the end.
05:14 Until the end.
05:15 Until the end.
05:16 Until the end, until I can do it, until God's will.
05:19 There's so much to be grateful for.
05:21 Amen, amen.
05:22 Auntie Holly, I have a question.
05:24 Yes.
05:25 Yes, yes, question.
05:27 In your 50 years on Showbiz,
05:29 what is one thing that you will never forget about your career?
05:35 There's a lot.
05:37 There's a lot.
05:38 A lot.
05:39 But one thing that I will never forget,
05:41 here at GMA, my career started.
05:45 My first regular noontime show, Student Canteen.
05:51 Wow.
05:52 I was with Eddie Ilarde, Bobby Ledesma.
05:55 And then later on, Helen Vela was also with us.
05:58 And Pepe Pimentel was with us for a very, very short while.
06:02 So, I was with them in their work.
06:04 So, I was immediately hooked with some of the best in the industry.
06:08 So, I was the youngest there because you need a student there.
06:12 Do you have a student there?
06:14 Because they look like professors.
06:16 And then, another thing, here at GMA,
06:20 why?
06:21 You thought I was going to say something?
06:22 No, I was just laughing.
06:23 Here at GMA, my drama started.
06:26 And that time, it was called Connie Reyes Mumar Drama Studio.
06:30 Produced by Program Philippines, Inc.
06:34 I didn't forget that I was also a TVJ.
06:36 Yes.
06:37 Right? TVJ.
06:38 What advice would you give to our artists?
06:42 Love your job.
06:44 Learn your craft.
06:47 Not because you're already married,
06:52 or because you think you're already good.
06:53 Even if you're good,
06:58 it doesn't last.
07:01 You have to improve your craft.
07:04 Respect not just the famous ones,
07:06 not just the popular big-time names.
07:09 Respect everyone that you're working with.
07:12 Because everyone is putting in something.
07:15 So, that's all I can say.
07:21 Yes, Auntie Connie.
07:22 That's not enough?
07:23 We really appreciate your advice.
07:25 Especially on set, you always give us advice.
07:27 And it's truly an honor.
07:28 Tell us what advice I gave you.
07:30 I have a lot.
07:32 A lot.
07:33 I'm done.
07:35 Exam.
07:36 But of course, Auntie, it's such an honor to be working with you,
07:39 with Kailin, Paul, and Kate,
07:41 here on our show, Shining Inheritance.
07:44 It's just another addition to your colorful career.
07:49 Love you, Auntie.
07:50 I'm so blessed to be here.
07:52 Miss Neva is here, right?
07:54 Of course, our PM.
07:56 We can't forget Anthony Pastor.
07:58 Oh, no.
07:59 Grace, and everyone else.
08:01 Please look forward to Shining Inheritance.
08:03 Yes, and this is directed by director Joran Lee Monroy.
08:06 Please look forward to the story about family,
08:10 especially the love of grandmother and her grandchildren.
08:14 Oh, wait. There's also Mikey.
08:17 Mikey plays the young Aurea de la Costa.
08:23 There, everyone.
08:24 It's coming up soon on GMA.
08:28 Thank you very much, Miss Connie Reyes.
08:30 You are an icon.
08:31 You were supposed to sit down,
08:33 but you stood with us as you always stand for the entire industry.
08:37 And may you have many more years to make many more movies and shows.
08:41 Thank you so much.
08:42 We love you, Miss Connie.
08:44 We love you.
08:45 I love you, guys.
