00:20 These raids were in part of the investigation to the Virendra Ram case.
00:24 Virendra K. Ram, the chief engineer of the Jharkhand Rural Development Department, was
00:29 arrested by the ED in February 2023 in connection with a money laundering case associated with
00:35 alleged irregularities and the implementation of certain government scheme.
00:40 According to initial report, the agency had recovered 20 crore cash from the household
00:45 of Sanjeev Lal PS to Alamgir Alam.
00:48 But now the reports are coming that the cash is actually more than that, approximately
00:51 30 crore of cash.
00:54 The video footage of the search showed wads of currency notes spread in a room that is
00:58 alleged to be the domestic help of Sanjeev Lal PS to Alamgir Alam.
01:02 The ED's scrutiny intensified after multiple searches were conducted on 21 February 2023
01:08 in Rachi, Jamshedpur and even several other locations in Jharkhand, Bihar and Delhi.
