00:11 When the vaccine is complete, everyone is protected.
00:14 This is the campaign of the Department of Health in the World Immunization Week of April 24 to 30.
00:19 According to the 2022 WHO UNICEF Estimates of National Immunization Coverage,
00:25 more than 600,000 children are not vaccinated in the Philippines.
00:30 Because they are not vaccinated, the chances of getting sick are higher.
00:36 Because of this, the DOH continues to remind children to get vaccinated when they are born.
00:42 Under the National Immunization Program of the DOH,
00:47 newborn babies can be vaccinated with 3-dose Primary Pentavalent Shots or 5-in-1.
00:54 It is given free of charge to health centers in the province for 6 weeks, 10 weeks, and 14 weeks after birth.
01:01 Children who are vaccinated are protected from life-threatening diseases
01:06 such as Guterria, Tetanus, Pertussis, Hepatitis B, and Haemophilus Influenza Type B.
01:14 Meanwhile, for those who use vape or e-cigarettes,
01:19 DOH reminds us that there are dangers that these can bring to our health.
01:23 That's why, like the packaging of cigarettes,
01:26 even vape or e-cigarettes will now have Graphic Health Warnings.
01:31 According to the DOH Advisory,
01:34 Graphic Health Warnings for vaporized nicotine, non-nicotine products, and novel tobacco products
01:38 will be implemented on May 12.
01:44 According to the advisory,
01:45 Graphic Health Warnings should include half of the front and back of the vape packaging
01:51 that will show signs of its presence in the mouth and throat of the user.
01:57 Anyone who will use it will be fined up to 2 to 5 million pesos.
02:04 If they are imprisoned for no more than 6 years,
02:07 they will be cancelled their permit and license, and will be deported to foreign manufacturers.
02:13 A video of buying anti-hypertensive medicine without prescription is now viral on social media.
02:20 But what does the law say about this?
02:23 It is stated in the Republic Act 10918 or Philippine Pharmacy Act of 2016
02:30 that a patient needs a prescription if he or she will buy prescription drugs.
02:35 In their official statement issued last week,
02:38 Philippine Pharmacists Association, Inc.
02:42 is in favor of implementing the rules of R.A. 10918.
02:47 This law is to ensure that the medicine will be purchased
02:51 according to the patient's condition and prescribed by a medical expert.
02:54 For the month of May,
02:57 cervical cancer awareness is the DOH's campaign.
03:01 According to the DOH's data,
03:03 cervical cancer is the second most common form of cancer in women here in the Philippines.
03:09 Cervical cancer is the growth of abnormal cells in the lining of a woman's cervix.
03:16 Women aged 15 to 44 are at risk for cervical cancer.
03:21 According to the DOH, 12 women die every day in the Philippines because of this.
03:27 Some of the reasons are over four times of vomiting,
03:32 low resistance, and second-hand smoking.
03:37 A woman may be screened using a visual inspection with acetic acid and pap smear.
03:43 There is also an HPV vaccine that can be vaccinated.
03:47 So remember, early detection is key.
03:51 And that's our latest updates for this month.
03:55 Always remember,
03:56 when it comes to health, you should be updated.
