00:00President Bongbong Marcos explained the importance of maritime cooperation to the Filipino community in Hanoi, Vietnam.

00:11At the start of his two-day state visit there, the President said that the Philippines should have a say in Vietnam

00:19in order to avoid trouble in the South China Sea, especially since Vietnam is an important part of it.

00:25Before this, the President helped Vinfast, which plans to manufacture batteries and import electric vehicles to the Philippines.

00:35Tomorrow, the President will meet officials in Vietnam, including their President and Prime Minister.

00:42One of the most important agreements expected to be signed is the Long-Term Rice Supply Agreement.

00:5070% of the rice produced in the Philippines comes from Vietnam.

00:55President Marcos called on the Australian government to help in the middle of the issues in the West Philippine Sea.

01:09to fight against the rules of law and peace in the Indo-Pacific region.

01:14The President also thanked Australia's support in the midst of China's continued and fierce move to the South China Sea.

01:23The President also said that he will not give up the territory of the Philippines to anyone.

01:52In the middle of the President's speech, Australian Senator Janet Rice issued a placard saying,

01:59Stop the Human Rights Abuses.

02:01Rice said that it is shameful that Australia invited President Marcos to speak in front of their Parliament.

05:25They called on China to comply with the ruling of the arbitral tribunal that Iungin is in the exclusive economic zone of the Philippines.

05:39would invoke our mutual defense treaty.

05:43He also mentioned the expansion of the economic corridor in the Philippines with the help of G7,

05:48or the seven richest countries in the world.

05:51It means more jobs for people across the entire region.

05:55It means more investment in sectors critical to our future.

05:59Clean energy, ports, railroads, agriculture, and much more.

06:17We seek to identify ways of growing our economies and making them more resilient,

06:21climate-proofing our cities and our societies,

06:25sustaining our development progress, and forging a peaceful world for the next generation.

06:37To secure peace and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific,

06:41I hope to reaffirm our intention to further strengthen trilateral cooperation

06:46and to present the specific way forward through today's meeting.

06:56Not only because of this first opportunity,

06:59the three Indo-Pacific maritime democracies have come together.

07:03But because of this, it will determine the future and direction of our region.

07:08A free, open, peaceful, and prosperous Indo-Pacific region

07:13that will continue to support freedom of navigation and follow the rule of law.

07:18Before the summit, President Biden was helped by President Marcos

07:22where he gave priority to the American bilateral relations in the Philippines.
