Sneak peak inside The Bath hotel following refurbishment

The Morecambe Visitor were invited for a sneak peak at the newly refurbished The Bath hotel in Morecambe. The pub has been totally refurbished with new apartments above.

00:00 We started probably three years ago when we bought the pub.

00:03 It was quite run down, in fact very run down and leaking.

00:07 So the last three years we've looked at going through the planning process

00:12 and refurbing it, adding an additional two bedrooms onto the extension,

00:19 an additional three in the loft.

00:22 So that gives us a total of 11 rooms, all to a very, very high standard.

00:28 I don't think there's any luxury rooms to this standard anywhere else in Morecambe.

00:32 The pub we've refurbed to, again, a good standard.

00:38 We'll be serving cascades and everybody's welcome.

00:42 We'll also have live music on.

00:45 We've refurbed the fience blocks, bringing it back to its Art Deco original standard.

00:52 We've removed all the maroon tiles from the base of the building.

00:57 We've added the new windows up on the first, second floor, new VELUX windows in the loft.

01:05 It's been quite extensive.

01:07 The canopy was rotten.

01:10 We've had to replace that on the majority of it, the top of it.

01:15 New lead work on it, bring it back to, well, we're totally watertight now.

01:21 And likewise with the basement, we've refurbed the basement out completely.

01:25 So we now have probably, it's quite a large cellar, dry with leaks everywhere, but now we're pretty dry.

01:32 We've been working with the owners of the bath for about six months to a year,

01:37 and we're honoured to be part of this project.

01:39 We appreciate what the bath has meant to people over the years.

01:42 And yeah, it's really exciting for us to be here and be part of it.

01:46 We serve coastal comfort food, celebrating the produce and the people of Morecambe Bay.

01:51 So we'll be serving our signature seafood chowder, as well as a chicken dish and some other dishes further down the line.
