Who Dares Wins, also known as The Final Option, is a 1982 British political thriller film directed by Ian Sharp and starring Lewis Collins, Judy Davis, Richard Widmark, Tony Doyle, and Edward Woodward. The film is loosely based on the actions of the British Army’s Special Air Service (SAS) in the 1980 Iranian Embassy siege, but makes considerable fictionalized departures from the actual siege and its background.

The film follows SAS Captain Peter Skellen, played by Lewis Collins, who is thrown out of the service for gross misconduct due to unnecessary violence and bullying. Skellen is soon recruited by The People’s Lobby, a fanatical group aiming to hold several US dignitaries hostage. However, Skellen’s dismissal is a front to enable him to get close to the terrorist group.

The film takes inspiration from the SAS’ 1980 Iranian Embassy Assault and boasts to be as close to the real thing as possible. It features a mix of action, thrills, and suspense, with a strong performance from Lewis Collins as the protagonist.
