00:02 Yeah, we were just talking about that
00:06 in the locker room a little bit.
00:07 It's just a mistake we're making.
00:11 I don't think both these games, especially this one,
00:13 we, it's not like we're getting beat.
00:15 You know, we're just doing it,
00:16 things on our own that are making us lose,
00:19 like two turnovers inside the 10 yard line,
00:21 penalties.
00:24 So, I mean, I think if you want to talk about good news,
00:27 that's the good news.
00:27 We're not like overmatched or anything,
00:29 but it's a short season,
00:31 so you can't afford to lose too many of these like that.
00:34 (indistinct)
00:41 I think, you know, we just,
00:48 we were able to run a little bit better,
00:50 like operationally as an offense with Josh back in there.
00:54 It's good to have him in there.
00:55 And just every, that's the thing
00:57 with this condensed timeframe,
00:58 you don't really have time to get on the same page
00:59 as an offense.
01:01 So, I mean, as the season goes on,
01:02 we'll have to get on the same page
01:03 and just continue working on chemistry.
01:05 But yeah, I think that was the main thing.
01:08 (indistinct)
01:16 So, I mean, first of all, the atmosphere was awesome,
01:27 especially in that fourth quarter when,
01:29 you know, we had a chance to stop them
01:31 and try to get the ball back to go and win it.
01:32 The crowd was loud.
01:36 I think, I mean, I don't know what the overall attendance
01:38 was, but it looked pretty full to me.
01:39 So, that was awesome.
01:41 You know, obviously wish we could have got the win
01:43 for them first home game,
01:45 but yeah, it was a great atmosphere, I thought.
01:49 What was the other part?
01:50 The opportunity to play in the NFL.
01:53 Yeah, I mean, you know, I'd done the AAF,
01:55 so, you know, start up league, I was a little bit skeptical,
01:58 but I mean, from the first meetings I had,
02:00 like up to this point, I think it's exceeded expectations.
02:04 The football, the talent's definitely there on the field,
02:07 the product on the field, but just, you know,
02:10 from production to fan engagement,
02:12 I think it's been, you know, awesome all around.
02:16 Yeah, kind of just what I was just talking about,
02:24 just kind of the infrastructure of the league
02:27 and the business side of things.
02:28 I don't think talent for leagues like this
02:30 will ever be an issue just because there's so many guys
02:33 out there that aren't on 53-man NFL rosters
02:36 that can play this game at a high level.
02:38 So, they're out there.
02:39 It's just a matter of getting the right foundation,
02:42 pro league, and just the right operations together.
02:46 When you elaborate on the rule changes,
02:48 like they were selling your idea
02:49 and you had to go to a high-level league.
02:52 Right.
02:53 Can you talk about that and how it just changed
02:55 with the talent being a football player
02:57 when you're in the game?
02:59 Yeah, I mean, you're never really out of it,
03:02 you know, until the clock runs out,
03:05 just because you can go down and get nine points.
03:07 So, those, I've been talking about it
03:10 since before the season started.
03:11 Those conversions are going to be big going forward,
03:14 and I think are going to decide a lot of games.
03:17 After your big touchdown in the fourth,
03:18 there was a massive Spurs chant that went out in the state.
03:22 What was going on in your head there?
03:23 How'd you feel?
03:24 That's cool, man.
03:26 You know, I think part of that
03:27 just being a hometown guy,
03:29 and having played for the Rams
03:31 and the Chargers for a little bit.
03:34 You know, it's just cool to get that kind of appreciation,
03:37 I guess, and be able to still do it playing football.
03:40 So, it was awesome.
03:42 You scored two touchdowns today.
03:44 What's up, John?
03:45 You had three separate in-game interviews.
03:49 (inaudible)
03:58 Yeah, it's kind of, I don't know,
04:00 it kind of just keeps you loose, really.
04:03 I got to do one with Todd, which was cool,
04:04 and then got to kind of, you know,
04:07 engage with the fans a little bit.
04:08 So, a little bit, they kind of got to understand
04:11 that we got a football game to play,
04:13 and they were pulling me away
04:14 in times when I needed to be there.
04:15 But, we'll get that smoothed out going forward.
04:18 So, I think it's a cool little touch that they added.
04:22 I mean, after your second touchdown,
04:24 you're engaged with the TV,
04:27 and you're engaged with the broadcast.
04:29 Yeah, we're trying to line up and run our two-point play,
04:31 and the reporters, they're like, "What happened there?"
04:34 I'm like, "I'm trying to get the play called."
04:35 The TV is kind of talking to me, too.
04:37 So, I don't know. It's cool.
04:40 As long as it doesn't interfere with the game,
04:42 I'm fine with it.
04:43 If this opportunity had to come up,
04:46 what would you be doing now?
04:48 That's a good question.
04:51 I don't know. In between all the football I've been doing,
04:53 I've kind of been --
04:55 My family's involved with nutrition and fitness.
04:57 So, I've helped out a lot with that.
05:01 And I'll eventually transition to that.
05:04 But I'm trying to play football right now as long as I can.
05:10 Next week, you guys have a D.C.
05:12 tough game, obviously, a top team.
05:14 What is it that you think you guys can do better
05:16 to get off to a better start
05:17 and gain some things from the head?
05:19 Yeah, just what we talked about,
05:22 eliminating mistakes on our end.
05:25 You know, I think as an offense, we move the ball well.
05:27 Just not being able to get in the end zone,
05:29 getting points, and then eliminating the penalties.
05:33 I don't think we're going to face a team all year
05:35 that's going to be overmatching us talent-wise.
05:37 So, we just got to clean up things on our end,
05:40 and we'll be good.
05:41 [Indistinct]
05:45 This is good.
05:48 I was kind of a white-claw guy, but the black cherry's pretty good.
05:51 [Laughter]
05:55 What was that?
05:58 Yeah, later on.
05:59 [Indistinct]
