00:00 Labour's first priority is the safety and security of its citizens and we will, if we're
00:05 given the honour of being the next government, do a strategic defence review looking at the
00:09 threats and making sure that when we spend people's money, we spend it in the right way
00:14 and we address the increasing concerns that we have and the increasing threats that we
00:18 have against our country.
00:20 So that's what we will be doing and we will increase the amount of money that we are going
00:24 to spend up to 2.5%.
00:26 We are very interested to hear that the government believes that they can increase defence spending
00:31 by up to 2.5% by 2030, that's £75 billion.
00:38 They produced a 22-page document yesterday saying that's what they were going to do but
00:42 there wasn't a single line in it on how they were going to pay for it.
