Major Berlin show marks 250th anniversary of German Romantic painter Caspar David Friedrich's birth

A huge show of Caspar David Friedrich’s iconic landscapes that marks the 250th anniversary of his birth is opening in Berlin.

00:00Berlin and the Nationalgalerie is not the last place where Friedrich was rediscovered,

00:26because after his death no one knew him anymore.

00:28It was not until 1906 that he was re-presented in an exhibition here in this place.

00:34And this exhibition is the next big exhibition to Friedrich since then.

00:40So it's really time to rediscover the artist here again in all facets.

00:57This still painter Friedrich still has a lot to tell us today,
