01:04 - I was just getting started.

01:06 This is a clown story, I hate clowns.

01:09 They're creepy, they give me nightmares.

01:13 They call it bozo-phobia.

01:16 - Guess we finally found something wrong with Miss Perfect.

02:02 It was Friday night and Playland was jammed.

02:14 For thousands of kids, it had everything they wanted.

02:17 But for one kid, it had just a little too much.

05:36 - The Laughing in the Dark Spook House

05:39 There was another one on the same spot

05:41 back in the 1920s.

05:44 - So, in 1924, the circus came to town

05:46 and set up near Playland.

05:48 I guess one of the clowns, some dude named Zebo,

05:51 was a real foul ball.

05:52 - A clown known as Zebo stole the whole entire

05:56 circus payroll of $4,000.

05:58 Wow.

06:02 - He got caught, though, and they chased him

06:03 into Playland.

06:04 He ran into the spook house,

06:06 and he would have gotten away,

06:07 except for one thing.

06:09 - The cigar.

06:10 - Cigar?

06:11 - Zebo smoked cigars.

06:15 The police figured he threw one away in the spook house,

06:18 because the whole place caught fire with him inside.

06:23 - The fire spread quickly,

06:24 and attempts to rescue Zebo were feuded.

06:27 Tragically, the clown perished in the inferno.

06:31 Ew.

06:32 - Smoking's bad for your health.

06:35 - A couple years later, they built another laughing

06:37 in the dark and made a spooky dummy of Zebo

06:39 at the end to scare everyone.

06:41 Legend has it that--

06:42 - Legend has it the ghost of Zebo is still there.

06:46 Trapped.

06:49 For all time.

06:51 - Exactly.

06:54 - I bet I know why, too.

06:57 - I bet he likes to trap small children inside.
