00:00 On Saturday, the Oklahoma State Patrol announced the closure of a highway south of Salisore
00:09 following a barge collision with a bridge over the Arkansas River.
00:13 Troopers took action around 1.25 p.m. upon receiving reports of the incident, redirecting
00:17 traffic away from the affected area, according to State Patrol Spokesperson Sarah Sievert.
00:22 The bridge spanning the Arkansas River at its entry into the Robert S. Kier Reservoir
00:28 will stay shut until inspection can be conducted, Sievert added.
00:36 Sievert confirmed that there were no injuries reported on either the highway or the barge.
00:40 The cause of the barge collision with the bridge remains unclear at this time.
00:44 Meanwhile, on Saturday, engineers were actively engaged in lifting a section of the mangled
00:48 steel from the collapsed Francis Scott Key Bridge in Maryland.
00:52 The bridge collapsed into the Patapsco River following a collision with a massive cargo
00:56 ship that struck one of its main supports.
00:59 The operators of the Dali cargo ship issued a Mayday call moments before the crash early
01:03 Tuesday, saying the vessel had lost power.
01:06 But the 985-foot-long ship still struck one of the 1.6-mile bridge's supports at 8 knots,
01:13 which is roughly 9 meters per hour.
01:15 That caused the span to break and fall into the water within seconds.
01:18 Eight construction workers were filling potholes on the bridge when the crash happened.
01:23 Two were rescued soon after the collapse.
01:25 Others recovered the bodies of two others, and other four are presumed dead.
01:29 Jeffrey Pritzker, executive vice president of Brauner Builders, said they were working
01:34 in the middle of the span when it collapsed.
