Lockerbie disaster TV dram filming on quiet Edinburgh street

Evening News reporter Kevin Quinn went along to Peatville Terrace this week to see the filming of 'Flight 103' taking place on the normally quite Longstone street on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 26 and 27.

00:00 I'm here at Peatville Terrace where filming is taking place for the new drama series Flight 103

00:05 being carried out by Carnival Productions.

00:08 The five-parter will be about the Lochaber disaster in 1988.

00:12 The Longstone Street was transformed ahead of filming by the TV crew

00:18 with Christmas decorations placed in the gardens and front windows of the properties.

00:28 Large lights were also brought onto the temporary film set in Longstone

00:32 ahead of some evening filming on Wednesday night.

00:35 Locals gathered particularly in the evening to catch a glimpse of filming

00:41 but unfortunately most were disappointed.

00:43 Vintage cars were also placed on the driveways of the Longstone Street

00:50 to transform the street into 1988 Walkerway

00:55 with emergency service vehicles also in attendance on one night of filming

00:59 with gravel scattered across the street to make it look like a disaster zone.

01:03 With the road now reopened to the public and the cleanup operation beginning on Thursday morning

01:12 this is two days of filming that locals will never forget.
