Danilo urges greater education, after Robinho and Alves rape convictions

Danilo wants to raise awareness about violence against women after Robinho and Alves were convicted of rape.

00:18 I think it is a reflection of our society and it comes to mirror in football.

00:22 I believe that we, as high-level athletes,

00:26 have to understand our role,

00:30 understand that our actions have a much greater power to influence positively or negatively.

00:40 I think it's time for us to understand better that our role is to play football,

00:46 our main role is to represent our clubs and the Brazilian team,

00:50 and also to be examples of behavior and ways of dealing with the youth off the field.

00:59 We have mothers, sisters, daughters, wives, girlfriends,

01:06 and these women go through trials or thoughts that we, as men, do not go through.

01:13 We may think about what clothes to wear, or not, because of a judgment or because of a precedent.

01:23 We, as men, do not have this kind of thought or this kind of fear.

01:28 So it is very important that we,

01:39 especially for the youth, which is where we can form this thought in a more genuine way.
