A teacher has saved over 80 ancient trees from HS2 - after spotting little yellow dots on the trunks which meant they were due for the chop.
Carol-Anne O’Callaghan was renting a Grade II listed farmhouse on the corner of Leather Lane, a tree lined ancient Holloway in Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire.
She spotted marks on the trees left by HS2 workers - meaning they had been earmarked to be cut down - but swiftly discovered they were a vital wildlife habitat for a rare bat species.
