This is the Only Snowmobile Designed by Pininfarina and It is Electric.

Meet Vidde, a Swedish electric snowmobile startup that set out to keep more than just snow clear.

Geographically speaking, where you live makes a big difference in what the cultural sentiment is regarding electric vehicles. Sweden is one of the fastest growing countries in the world for the adoption of battery electric vehicles. In December 2023 alone, BEVs were found to account for a full 63.1 percent of new vehicle registrations in the country.

Vidde Mobility says it tested the pre-production Alfa during the 2023-2024 season and plans to move into full production and shipping in late 2024. It opened pre-orders on its website on February 18, 2024. The price is €26,200, which is approximately $28,545 as of March 15, 2024.

Test mules have the following features that may change before production:

Level 2 charges in 3.5 hours
An electric motor producing a claimed 175 horsepower and 400 newton-meters (about 295 pound-feet) of torque
270 kilograms (approximately 595 pounds) towing capacity (sustained towing)
The lowest startup temperature is -35 degrees Celsius (about -31 Fahrenheit)

While Sweden and other Scandinavian countries are at the cutting edge of EV adoption, it's clear that the challenges of separating EV batteries and cold air are not entirely insurmountable.
