Laparoscopic myomectomy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure used to remove fibroids from the uterus. It involves making small incisions in the abdomen and using a laparoscope to visualize and remove the fibroids. Lateral wall fibroids are fibroids located on the side of the uterus. During a laparoscopic myomectomy for a lateral wall fibroid, the surgeon carefully removes the fibroid while preserving the healthy tissue of the uterus. This procedure is preferred over traditional open surgery due to its shorter recovery time, less postoperative pain, and lower risk of complications. It is commonly performed to alleviate symptoms such as heavy menstrual bleeding and pelvic pain caused by fibroids.
