Golden Tigresses stop Lady Falcons

The UST Golden Tigresses denied the Adamson Lady Falcons, 25-18, 22-25, 25-15, 28-26, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Saturday, March 16 to complete a first round sweep of the UAAP Season 86 women's volleyball.

Angge Poyos unleashed 18 points to lead the Golden Tigresses, who improved to 7-0 that now stands as their best start in the UAAP Final Four era.

This is the second time that UST swept the first round, with the first happening in the 2006-2007 season although there were only seven teams that year due to La Salle's suspension.
