00:00 And I went after the 66 and I hit it really hard.
00:02 It just ended up just staying right and just dinked off that pride about four
00:05 yards up.
00:06 So not too mad about that miss.
00:08 I would have been tying the NFL record but just wanted to show how strong of a leg
00:11 I have.
00:11 I think a lot of people think just because I'm 20 years old going in the NFL that
00:15 I don't have a strong enough leg like I want to show them that I'm just as neat
00:18 as every guy in the league.
00:19 I think just the success I'd found in my previous three years, especially having
00:24 success freshman year.
00:25 I think that kind of jump-started into my sophomore year kind of going 80 plus
00:28 percent that year and then really the thought was like fall camp.
00:33 I mean, I was attempting to field goal for 58, 61, 56 and I was just banging
00:37 them through and I mean, that's what it takes to be at the NFL level.
00:39 You see guys like, I mean, Evan McPherson, for example, he was a guy that ended
00:43 up graduating early or leaving early as well and he's attempted 57, 58 yards in
00:46 the first quarter.
00:47 So it's like in order to be at that level for most teams, you got to be able to
00:51 make those deep attempts.
00:52 So I felt like I showed success during the season with that and I just was ready
00:56 mentally to go chase my dream in the NFL.
00:58 You talk to any like Bo, Trajan, Nudy, Brady, like I feel like I'm in and out
01:05 of the house every week.
01:06 I mean, I get a call from my agent at nine o'clock one night that I'm flying
01:08 out to Phoenix next morning to go train because a flight spot opened up.
01:11 So it's like I didn't have my bags packed or anything.
01:13 So I just stuffed in a bag and left the next morning.
01:15 So it's definitely all over the place, but I think that kind of keeps me on my
01:20 toes a little bit when I need to maybe work out for a team or, you know, just
01:25 be in a bind.
01:25 I think it will prepare me for the next level because I'll be traveling
01:28 I mean every other week Thursday, Sunday.
01:30 I mean wherever I'm going to play, I'm going to be traveling.
01:33 So it's been hectic, but it's been a blessing.
01:35 Not everyone gets to, you know, participate in it.
01:37 How do you feel your performance was today compared to an Indianapolis
01:41 couple?
01:41 Yeah, I thought they were very similar.
01:43 I missed my two misses of the Indy were off the upright.
01:46 So that was a little bit of a head scratcher.
01:49 I didn't when I missed off the upright twice.
01:51 I was like crap.
01:52 Well, can't really hit me.
01:53 It's game of inches at that point.
01:54 So ended up after those two misses going 15 straight back to 60 twice.
01:58 So I was pretty pleased with that performance.
02:01 But I think one thing that I really wanted to show today was just I didn't
02:04 hit the ball to cleanest at Indy.
02:05 I made a lot of kicks which is the name of the game, but I wanted to show
02:09 guys that look I have I have an elite leg talent and I wanted to put it on
02:12 display today.
02:13 And I mean I was hitting the ball from 45 yards above way way way above the
02:17 upright.
02:18 So I just wanted to kind of clean up some stuff and really showed him that
02:20 I was honed in on my skill.
02:21 Probably stupid question, but different ball college to pro.
02:24 Yeah, just no, that's not a stupid question at all actually because it's a
02:27 lot different the sweet spot.
02:29 The ball is a little shorter.
02:30 Maybe might be the same height as a college ball, but it's a lot fatter.
02:34 So sweet spots a little bigger.
02:35 But if you hit a higher ball in college like the Nike balls are a little
02:38 skinnier.
02:38 So if you think about that, you can get more foot under the ball.
02:40 So to get higher these balls, you have to hit a little differently to get
02:43 the ball up and elevated like that.
02:45 But if you can find the sweet spot with them, you can smash the ball.
02:48 So I kind of played around with that the first month and a half that I was
02:51 kind of training with them and you know, find my sweet spot with it.
02:54 Where have you been based for all this and who's your rep?
02:56 Yeah, so been out of Fayetteville.
02:58 I thought why not be around all my buddies for mental support.
03:02 My best friends live here.
03:03 So I want to be around them in good mental state and kind of hanging around
03:06 them for my last bit here and I have the weight room here.
03:09 Obviously to still use recovery was very important to me.
03:12 Nutrition is important to me.
03:13 So I still have the Jones Center to go to.
03:14 So I thought it would be kind of stupid just kind of fly somewhere and stay
03:17 somewhere for that length of time.
03:19 But my rep is four stars.
03:22 I love that guy to death.
03:23 He's a great agent.
03:24 He's taken me through that kind of the whole process of flying me out to
03:29 places making sure that I was taken care of on and off the field.
03:31 So it's been amazing so far.
03:33 What are you hoping to continue to refine between now and the draft?
03:35 Yeah, just I think one to keep show my consistency.
03:39 I think I showed it today really well inside 55 and I mean a lot of games
03:42 are won outside that in the NFL, but I really just want to show teams.
03:45 Look, I'm the best guy in this class and I kind of want to just put it on
03:49 display as much as possible that I'm ready for the next level.
03:51 Just keep putting trust.
03:53 At this point people are trying to find ways not to draft you.
03:55 So you want to give them every right answer to give.
03:57 So being drafted, is that an important thing for you?
04:01 Yeah.
04:01 Yeah, I definitely think I have the potential to be a draft pick.
04:04 You've seen probably the past two or three years.
04:07 There's a guy.
04:07 There's usually one kicker, two kickers.
04:09 Last year's was a little different story being three kickers drafted, but
04:11 I do feel like being a draft pick is a special thing as a specialist and
04:15 the elite guys get drafted.
04:16 I mean, obviously, if not UDFA route, I'm going to go compete my butt off.
04:20 Like at that point, it's a job and you're going out there and
04:23 fighting every day for your job.
04:24 So wherever I go, I'm just going to compete my butt off.
04:27 So what are you playing again?
04:29 Yeah, chilling with my parents, my brother.
04:31 That's it.
04:31 Kind of waiting on the call back and I might be up here in Fayetteville,
04:35 might be in Oklahoma City.
04:36 I haven't really decided yet, but I'm just going to be kind of hanging out
04:38 with them.
04:38 Nothing crazy.
