00:05 I expect to bounce back for Vlad Guerrero, but then I do read there are some issues.
00:08 I believe there's a finger issue and I'm hopeful that's nothing.
00:12 Dalton Varshow is another guy on the Blue Jays that I keep my eye on.
00:15 He loses his catcher eligibility, but still remains a fun player.
00:20 And the rotation, Joe, you and I spent quite a bit of time last week just
00:23 talking about Kevin Gossman.
00:25 He says he should be ready to go opening day.
00:28 There were some concerns with the shoulder.
00:30 I think Chris Bassett is a huge linchpin to this rotation.
00:33 And you were mentioning to me that you think the bottom of this rotation is
00:36 gonna lose a name and is gonna need some help.
00:38 >> Yeah, Alec Manoa already dealing with a shoulder issue and
00:42 we all know what an unmitigated disaster 2023 was for Manoa.
00:46 But if they lose Gossman for any stretch of time, you could forget the Blue Jays.
00:49 They don't have enough here.
00:51 Ricky Tiedemann inside, who is an exciting young pitcher.
00:53 He's also dealing with some injury issues this spring.
00:56 Without Gossman, this rotation just does not work.
00:58 And I'm with you.
00:59 I think Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
01:00 is coming to camp in much better shape.
01:03 I think he understands what went wrong last year.
01:05 And he was hurt a lot last year.
01:06 He was dealing with injuries.
01:07 He came out and said, look, I was not healthy the entire season.
01:10 It was one injury after another and he played through them.
01:13 But again, you look at this team and you look at this lineup,
01:16 Bassett, Guerrero, Springer at the top after that.
01:19 It's a lot of uncertainty.
01:20 I think missing out on the Shohei Otani sweepstakes and
01:24 then not really pivoting off of that hurt this team.
01:27 The Blue Jays were out there being aggressive in the market.
01:30 But unfortunately, they did not come away with, I think,
01:32 that other bat that they desperately needed in this batting order.
01:35 And no offense to Justin Turner, he is a bandaid on that situation at best.
01:39 So the Blue Jays have a lot of work to do, I think, and
01:42 this is a really tough division to have to look up at.
