00:00 Questions to the law?
00:02 We will give you the answer.
00:04 Your heart is still with us in the law,
00:06 Atty. Gabby Concepcion.
00:08 Atty.
00:09 Hey, are you still with the worries of the past few days
00:14 when Facebook had a problem?
00:16 Did you think that your account was hacked?
00:19 Well, me too. I'm really worried.
00:22 But what does the law say about hacking?
00:25 Here's all you need to know.
00:27 Ask Atty. Gabby.

00:37 Atty., when can we consider a hacking to have happened?
00:42 If I open my wife's account secretly,
00:46 can we consider it a hacking?
00:49 Well, if you read the law, Republic Act 10175,
00:53 when it says that this is a hacking of unauthorized access to a computer system,
00:59 it means that no one has entered the account of another person.
01:03 So technically, if you guessed your wife's password or you're very high-tech
01:08 and you entered her account system,
01:11 this will probably be included in our Cyber Crime Prevention Act
01:15 as a form of unauthorized access.
01:18 And you will be careful to increase the penalty for unauthorized access
01:22 up to 12 years in prison and fine up to Php 200,000.

01:32 What if I didn't log out of my account on a computer or device
01:37 and someone found out and hacked it?
01:40 Did someone chase me and I left my own account open?
01:45 Well, technically, if you left your account open and you just read your messages,
01:51 there's no crime here.
01:52 It's just for someone to read over your shoulder while you're reading your messages.
01:58 It's a violation of privacy but not necessarily a crime.
02:02 But if you left your account open and someone hacked it
02:08 to access your account and get other information,
02:12 at worst, to open other accounts,
02:16 I would say that's also an unauthorized access that's prohibited by the law.
02:23 So, my fellow citizens, make sure to make your passwords strong
02:27 and don't log in to your account from anywhere.
02:30 And for the hackers out there, please stop doing that
02:34 because karma might be digital and it might reach you.
02:37 So, as long as we're talking about the law, we will make it clear.
02:40 For the peace of mind, don't think twice.
