00:00 Do you know where I put Munez Gwad in terms of ranking?
00:04 Which is your favourite statistic?
00:06 Definitely this one. Goals conceded per 90.
00:08 Obviously I'm not playing the ball up here apart from that one pass,
00:11 but your 1v1 and it's you against a striker.
00:14 You know, I really like those kind of duels.
00:16 It's hard for me to kind of get round him in front of him.
00:19 Obviously this is my first goal for Milan, so that was a really, really proud moment.
00:23 In this particular jump, yeah, I managed to get the best of him.
00:26 I know that being more superhuman than him,
00:29 I'm not sure about that, but I'll take this record over him, yeah.
00:32 I'll just see it one more time.
00:33 Fikayo, we think the best way to describe you is as a total defender.
00:46 Do you see yourself as a modern, complete, all-round defender as well?
00:51 Yeah, I'd say so.
00:53 I think I try to model my game on different people in the game.
00:58 People who are better at certain things than I am,
01:00 or have different characteristics than I do.
01:02 So, yeah, I try my best to kind of add little bits to my games
01:07 where I can learn off what I watch, improve myself as much as possible.
01:14 I guess, like you say, become that total defender.
01:16 It is hard in the modern game because there's so many aspects to defend
01:18 and so many things that change in a second in the game.
01:22 So, yeah, I just try and improve as much as possible in every game
01:27 to be the best I can be.
01:28 Did you start when you were a youngster in central defence?
01:32 And also, what characteristics have you always had?
01:35 I think, like most players, when you start off,
01:39 everyone's normally an attacker, likes to score goals, etc.
01:42 So that was kind of where I started.
01:45 And then probably when I got to being about 13, 14,
01:50 that's when I started to play centre-back a bit more.
01:53 And then by 16, 17, I was pretty much exclusively playing centre-back.
01:58 And then, yeah, I just kind of grew into that position.
02:01 And, you know, as I said before, there were some attributes that I had
02:05 that kind of allowed me to shine as centre-back,
02:08 probably more than I would have in another position up front, for example.
02:12 Like I said before, my speed.
02:14 And I think as I get more experience in reading the game,
02:18 the mentality of trying to help the team.
02:20 And, you know, this is, for example, this is like something that I've had
02:23 since I was young, you know, being able to run pretty quickly and recover.
02:27 So, yeah, ever since I was young, I've kind of had that mentality of,
02:30 I want to kind of be the one to save the day or save the occasion or whatever it is.
02:34 And, you know, being a defender, there's a lot of chances where I have to do that.
02:38 So, yeah, that's just kind of how I started and how I feel like I was
02:43 kind of just made to play this position in football in the modern game.
02:47 Italy is obviously famous for the art of defending,
02:51 but obviously you possess an instinct for defending.
02:54 How much do you rely on that instinct and how much do you use
02:58 what you have learnt here in Italy?
03:00 Yeah, I think coming here, I definitely realised the rise in detail in defending
03:06 and how not just how they want you to defend individually,
03:09 but how you are in relation to where your teammates are or where the team is
03:13 or where the opposition are.
03:15 And those are the kind of things where in England, maybe I was defending more
03:19 instinctually than now, where it's a lot more thinking and a lot more thinking
03:23 about where I am in relation to the team, in relation to the ball,
03:26 in relation to where we are on the pitch, where they are on the pitch.
03:31 So I think being in Italy has definitely allowed me to grow in that aspect.
03:36 And it kind of helps you to not rely on only instinct,
03:41 but being able to think about a game or trying to think ahead.
03:44 But then there's obviously instances in the game where you have to do stuff
03:47 instinctually and the ball does drop or the ball lands somewhere
03:51 and you just have to react.
03:52 And I think that's where those attributes and those things that I was born with
03:57 and that I've had forever come into play.
03:58 But being in Italy, just my understanding of the game has grown.
04:02 And I've just tried to take as much as possible from different defenders
04:08 and the managers and coaches as well.
04:09 (MUSIC)
04:18 Analyzing your stats, we notice that you build up play from the back.
04:22 Do you consider yourself as the team's first playmaker?
04:26 And how much do you work on that aspect?
04:29 Yeah, we do a lot of building up from the back.
04:32 You know, we try and play the ball from the back a lot.
04:35 Obviously, I'm not playing the ball up here, apart from that one pass.
04:38 But yeah, it's just about trying to get the ball players on the ball.
04:42 You know, like Tajani, Isma, Yassine, Rapha, Christian,
04:47 you know, the attacking players, trying to get them on the ball as much as possible.
04:51 It's definitely something as a team that everyone else, everyone tries to do.
04:55 And we all try to move for each other and make the game easier
04:57 so we can build up and maintain position and get control of the game a lot.
05:00 So, yeah, you can see I've played on the left side.
05:03 I make a lot of passes from here, from this sort of area where we're building up
05:07 and where teams, you know, sometimes probably sit off against us.
05:12 So, yeah, it's just about kind of trying to keep the,
05:15 give the team a solid foundation, a solid base where we can build from
05:18 and, you know, being reliable with the ball.
05:21 Since your debut, you are the player who has had 100 or more touches in the most matches.
05:27 Do you like that responsibility?
05:29 Yeah, I think it's just about being the base of the team,
05:32 being in the centre where, you know, the ball is a lot of the time.
05:37 You know, being reliable with the ball and being able to help the team go forward
05:41 and help build the team in terms of construction with the ball and progressing the ball.
05:46 It's just about being reliable with the ball, using it well, making right decisions.
05:51 And yeah, I think that that helps us to get to progress the ball forward
05:56 and to get, like I said, the match winners at the front of the pitch to win us the game.
06:00 What influences your choice of pass?
06:02 Is it moving the ball on quickly?
06:04 Is it searching for unexpected angles or is it something else?
06:08 There's a lot of stuff. There's a lot of things.
06:11 Depends on the opposition, you know, how they press or, you know, how we want to build up.
06:16 And then again, sometimes maybe the team turns up and they've done something
06:20 that maybe we haven't prepared for.
06:21 Maybe they've just done something to try and surprise us.
06:23 So, you know, there's so many different games, so many different strikers,
06:27 so many different opposition and defences that we have to play against,
06:31 you know, the Champions League or the Europa League or the Serie A or Coppa Italia,
06:35 where there's so many different scenarios that are coming up.
06:38 So, yeah, I think it's just about, you know, being prepared for every situation as much as you can,
06:45 knowing that anything can happen and just being ready for that.
06:47 So make riskier passes is something that I want to try and improve on.
06:52 So, yeah, we'll see how that goes.
06:54 But it's something I'm working on and something that I want to take forward
06:57 for the rest of the season and going further into my career as well.
07:01 You were a pillar of the Scudetto winning team.
07:04 Here are your numbers from that season.
07:07 Which is your favourite statistic?
07:09 Definitely this one. Goals conceded per 90.
07:13 You know, that year we were really, really good.
07:15 Obviously, we won the league.
07:18 I think for a team like us, having goals conceded per 90, less than one, you know.
07:25 You know, we have players like Ole, we had Rafa, we had Tonali,
07:30 there was Messi, Aspire, Diaz, Theo as well.
07:33 You know, so many players that could score goals for us.
07:35 Rebic, Ibrahimovic, you know, having this one here just allowed us to,
07:40 I guess, allowed the players up front to know that it's going to be hard for them to score against us.
07:45 So we just have to make sure we score.
07:46 And I think for them mentally, that gives them a bit of a boost.
07:49 And for us, or me personally as a defender and us as a collective, as a defence and as a team, you know,
07:56 it just gives us confidence knowing that we are hard to beat.
07:58 And if we are like this on our day, if we're that tough to beat on our day, then we can win games.
08:04 So, yeah, this is definitely the column that I'm most happy about in these statistics, for sure.
08:11 Well, defenders love clean sheets and you clearly love a clean sheet.
08:16 You'll be proud to know that since you have been at Milan, with you on the pitch,
08:21 the team have kept the most clean sheets.
08:24 Didn't know that. Didn't know that.
08:27 Yeah, that's...
08:29 That's it.
08:32 Yeah, these are all nice stats.
08:35 I think, you know, there's...
08:37 You look at these stats now, obviously they're good stats,
08:39 but then I start to think about the games where maybe we conceded a stupid goal,
08:42 or maybe, you know, we switched off for a second.
08:45 And those are the kind of things that are in my mind right now.
08:48 But yeah, for sure, these stats are great.
08:51 And thinking about it, you know, saying I'm the one when I'm on the pitch,
08:54 there's more clean sheets.
08:55 You know, obviously as a defender, that's what you want.
08:57 And that's just what I try and do.
08:59 That's what I work for every day, try and help the team to stay in the game.
09:03 My job is to keep us in the game and save the game when need be.
09:06 So, yeah, I think, you know, shots saved on, for example,
09:10 I think that is something that I'm happy about, you know,
09:13 keeping Mike in the goal safe as much as possible.
09:16 So, yeah, obviously always room to improve.
09:22 But yeah, overall, really happy with these stats.
09:25 (THE FIRST AWAY GAMES)
09:27 Now it's time to watch some of your highlights in red and black.
09:31 We're going to start with the match against Fiorentina in March 2021,
09:36 one of your first away games in Serie A.
09:39 Oh, yeah.
09:40 Your aggression really stood out.
09:41 Is it fair to say that man marking is one of your specialities?
09:46 Yeah, I think it's grown a lot since I've actually been here.
09:49 I've always been someone who's been able to stay with a striker,
09:52 no matter if he was big or wiry or strong or whatever.
09:56 I think, yeah, that's definitely something that I've, again,
10:00 grown since I've been here, but always been an attribute of mine.
10:03 I remember this game really well, actually.
10:05 And this was my first six months.
10:06 So, yeah, it was a really good game.
10:09 I felt really good, I remember.
10:12 And these kind of duels where you're 1v1 and it's you against a striker.
10:16 You know, I really like those kind of duels,
10:19 because then it's just about staying concentrated
10:23 and, you know, I guess showing off what you can do in those sort of situations.
10:26 So, yeah, this is a really good game for me.
10:30 Yeah, like, for example, here, these kind of strikers where,
10:32 you know, they try and move the ball a lot and they try and get their body in the way
10:36 or they try and trick you.
10:38 It's just about a mental battle and, you know, a physical battle as well.
10:41 For example, here, he tried to hold the ball and I just got through the front of him.
10:45 So, yeah, there's just different scenarios
10:49 and you always have to, you know, stay alert and try and win that battle.
10:53 So, yeah, those are the kind of those are the parts of the game that I enjoy, for sure.
10:57 I think most people will say, especially on the football pitch,
10:59 you know, if you can play a game where you can display your best attributes,
11:01 you know, it makes you look good, it makes you feel good, you play your best.
11:04 And I think, you know, these are the kind of games where I can show,
11:07 show, you know, the aggression or strength or the speed or whatever it is.
11:10 You know, when I get the opportunity to show, you know, these parts of my game
11:14 that I guess kind of got me to the level I am today,
11:18 you know, I think, you know, those are the those are the times where I have to be
11:22 be on it to show it.
11:23 Your build, your physicality, along with your speed,
11:26 makes you a master of last ditch tackles.
11:30 Can you explain how you time tackles in the area so well
11:34 like these against Manchester United and against Atalanta?
11:38 Yeah, I think it's just through experience, really.
11:41 I think this one, I think I tried to actually nip the ball there and I didn't
11:45 really quite get it away, so it was just about recovering.
11:47 But like I said, it's always been
11:50 an attribute of mine where I can recover really quickly.
11:52 And I don't, I try not to give the striker a moment's peace to get an easy shot
11:55 or an easy pass off, especially in the box.
11:58 In regards to timing, it's just about, you know, watching the ball.
12:01 I'm trying not to look at the man, trying to just focus on the ball,
12:03 trying to make sure I'm not, I'm by the side of him.
12:06 I've got the right angle to tackle and not, you know, going through the side of him
12:10 or going through the back of him, just trying to make sure I can see him
12:14 to the side of me so that I can, you know, get my arm in and then create space
12:18 myself to actually take the ball.
12:19 So, you know, in these sorts of scenarios, you can kind of see where
12:22 I'm kind of giving myself space, get my arm in there
12:25 so I can kind of hook the ball away.
12:27 So, yeah, this is this is this is something I've been doing
12:30 since I was since I first started playing defence.
12:33 So, yes, I'm glad it stayed with me.
12:35 Your speed is particularly useful in a team like ours,
12:40 in which the fullbacks attack and occasionally leave gaps.
12:43 Do you work on your understanding with the goalkeeper,
12:46 fullbacks and other centre-backs in training?
12:49 Yeah, for sure. Something that we definitely work on, especially,
12:52 you know, especially with the left flank that we have with Rafa and Teo,
12:55 who, you know, they like to, you know, they like to go and they like to,
12:58 you know, and then when they go, they really fly.
13:00 So, yeah, having,
13:01 I guess, the understanding that, yeah, they are going to go.
13:05 So then I have to be really, really ready to cover, be ready to exploit spaces
13:09 like here, you know, Teo is inside and he's gone high.
13:13 And then I've managed to come up and I can't remember what I passed,
13:15 what I made here.
13:16 Probably should have passed it to Rafa, but, you know, that's all right.
13:18 But, yeah, just understanding the role in which I play, you know,
13:23 to see Teo's gone there.
13:24 So I know I have to open up or that he's going to create space for maybe Rafa
13:27 to get the ball or midfielders get the ball.
13:29 If a midfielder is taken, then I can kind of take that space.
13:31 So, yeah, it's definitely something we work on.
13:33 And, yeah, again, game to game, depending on who we're playing against,
13:38 you know, we adjust it sometimes, for example, here.
13:41 I think this is this is Torino where they come man to man.
13:43 So being able to, you know, I'm off the striker's shoulder there,
13:46 he can't see me.
13:47 So then I can go into that space and Teo's left his space
13:49 because his man's marking him.
13:51 Rafa's pinned his man back.
13:52 So, yeah, just these little moments that we work on for sure, yeah.
13:55 This season, after a corner against Juventus, you made a recovery run
14:00 and hit a top speed of 35.48 kilometres per hour.
14:05 That eye-catching stat put you among the fastest in the squad.
14:09 How important is pace in modern football?
14:12 Do you know where I put me in the squad in terms of ranking?
14:14 Yeah, I was pretty high, but yeah, I think, you know,
14:20 especially these corners where you just got to sprint back.
14:24 There's no kind of positional play or whatever.
14:26 You just got to try and get back and cover the space as much as possible.
14:29 So, yeah, that's just what I tried to do in this situation.
14:32 Even though I didn't actually clear the ball, but, you know, you can see Moise Keane
14:37 again is a fast player, so just really getting back in as quick as possible was the goal.
14:41 You can see when you put your head down to run, you know, that's when you know you're going.
14:46 So, yeah, obviously nice to be one of the fastest in the squad, I think.
14:49 This is the first time I've actually seen the stat of how fast it was.
14:54 So, yeah.
14:56 I want to see it one more time.
14:59 You like it, yeah?
15:01 Yeah, it's a good stat. It's good. I like it.
15:02 And you wanted to be the highest. We'll try and find out.
15:05 Yeah, yeah. I want to be.
15:07 If not me, then before the end of the season, I'm going to have to pull another one,
15:12 and really, really, really go.
15:13 Break a record.
15:14 Yeah.
15:14 All right. Usain Bolt style.
15:16 Yeah.
15:16 Goal scorers need a nose for goal, while defenders require a sixth sense for impending danger.
15:23 In the following interventions, did you have a gut feeling that your goal was under threat?
15:29 Yeah, yeah, for sure.
15:31 I think it's when the ball goes over your head in that instance where,
15:35 you don't know what's behind you, so you've just got to kind of recover.
15:38 You don't know where the ball is going to land, so you've just got to try and get back in
15:42 and defend the goal.
15:45 So, for example, that one, that was just about balls over my head.
15:49 Got to get back in.
15:51 There, Gigi Odoonoruma, he came out.
15:54 So, the goal's empty.
15:56 So, we've just got to try and block it.
15:58 And yeah, Simon does the first one, and then I've done the second one.
16:01 And you can see there, that's just both of us with the instinct.
16:05 There, Mike's on the floor and the ball's just in the air.
16:07 Again, don't know what's behind me, so I've just got to try and get the ball away from the goal.
16:10 As quick as possible, as effective as possible, get a clean contact on it.
16:14 And yeah, that was as good as it gets when we conceded less than a goal a game.
16:19 So, I think this kind of attitude that we had there was definitely what took us there.
16:25 And then again here, I think the way I realised that he had a free shot,
16:30 and he'd probably open up to go into the far corner.
16:34 So, just as quick as I kind of tried to...
16:36 Well, I did get in the way of where I knew he was going to put it.
16:39 So, yeah, it's just about instinct here.
16:41 Again, at the beginning, I'm trying to find where the ball is,
16:45 because he's actually blocking the line where the ball was.
16:47 And then, you know, at the end, when I saw the ball,
16:49 I just had to quickly get back in and make a tackle.
16:52 So, yeah, I think being a defender is about sensing the danger,
16:55 instinctually just kind of knowing where the ball might land,
16:59 or knowing where the second ball might land.
17:02 So, yeah, I think in most of these or in all of these instances,
17:07 that is just what I've tried to do, to try and predict where the ball is going to land,
17:11 knowing what is likely to happen or guessing what's likely going to happen,
17:14 and then adjusting accordingly.
17:17 So, yeah, that's just kind of the job that I've got to do.
17:21 We have to make a special mention of your block in the Champions League against Newcastle.
17:27 Was that the most difficult or most spectacular block of your career?
17:32 And in that moment, were you watching the player, the ball,
17:35 or were you working on instinct?
17:37 So this one, I think, yeah, it's probably the best tackle,
17:44 goal saving tackle, whatever you want to call it, I've done.
17:46 Honestly, at this point, I've kind of seen it developing
17:51 and I've seen Joel Lintz make the run and I know that, you know,
17:54 Amiron's in front of me.
17:55 But the way it's hard for me to kind of get around him in front of him.
18:01 So I think I've just tried to get to the side of him.
18:04 So Amiron's there and there's another man behind me.
18:08 So I've just got to kind of try and stay in the middle,
18:10 try and see where the ball is going to land.
18:11 When the ball's gone to Joel Lintz at the front post,
18:14 I've just tried to block the nearest danger.
18:17 And honestly speaking, when I've seen the ball come across,
18:20 it was just kind of guesswork around where the ball was going to land.
18:23 Just kind of trying to get my foot there.
18:25 I wasn't sure if I was going to get the ball first.
18:27 I actually ended up getting the ball on his contact as well.
18:30 But I wasn't sure if I was going to get it first,
18:32 if I was going to block the shot that he made, whatever.
18:35 But it was just trying to, I was just trying to get a body part in the way.
18:38 So, yeah, even though it was guesswork, it still turned out right.
18:42 And I had the right, you know,
18:43 mindset in where I wanted to be and what I wanted to happen.
18:47 So, yeah, it all worked out in the end.
18:48 And obviously we went on to win this game, which was really important.
18:51 Staying with that match, only the post denied you a goal after a counterattack.
18:57 How much do you enjoy moving into the attack and trying to get on the score sheet?
19:01 Yeah, obviously, primarily it's not my job.
19:05 You know, primarily my job is to defend the goal.
19:08 But, you know, in these kind of situations where you just have
19:11 you have the opportunity and you see the space to go.
19:14 I think here I just had to be too precise.
19:15 I've tried to go in off the post.
19:18 And then after you can see here, I was so tired after making that run.
19:21 So, no, it would have been nice.
19:22 It would have been nice to score.
19:23 But yeah, I think this season I've scored three goals already, which is
19:27 probably I think is my highest so far in my career in terms of a season.
19:30 So, yeah, it's been something that I thought about that I need to improve
19:35 on being dangerous and being effective in both boxes.
19:37 Not as effective in the box this time.
19:40 But yeah, I think, yeah, it's definitely something I've been working on
19:44 and trying to improve.
19:46 And obviously for any footballer, it's nice when you score a goal.
19:49 So being able to score and having the opportunity to score
19:52 and scoring goals is obviously a very good feeling for sure.
19:56 If that had gone in, yeah, you would have added to what is already
20:00 your best total so far, three goals.
20:02 Is that proof that you are becoming more influential in both penalty areas?
20:06 Yeah, I guess you can say so.
20:08 Yeah, it is, like I said, something I've been wanting to work on,
20:11 being more active in the box and in terms of when we're attacking
20:14 and when we're defending, being more active and
20:18 trying to stop the opposition from scoring, which is my first job.
20:21 But any time you score a goal, it's a great feeling.
20:25 Three goals this season already.
20:27 You know, they're not all...
20:29 I think I like the goals I scored this year because, you know,
20:32 they're kind of goals where I guess a strike would be happy to score
20:35 and when the ball just hits you or you're just in the right place.
20:37 So, yeah, those goals I've enjoyed because, you know, for this season,
20:41 collectively as a squad, we wanted to score more set pieces
20:45 or score more from set pieces.
20:47 And, you know, they're all from set pieces that I've scored from.
20:49 So, yeah, really, really happy.
20:52 Just want to try and add to that as much as possible.
20:55 Where I can.
20:56 But obviously, like I said, my first job is to defend the goal.
21:00 But yeah, three goals already this season.
21:01 I think I can't complain about that at all.
21:05 Your first goal in Serie A was against Juventus
21:08 and it demonstrated your aerial prowess.
21:11 Cristiano Ronaldo scored a famous header against Sampdoria
21:15 when he jumped higher than everyone around him and that effort went viral.
21:20 But are you aware that you actually rose higher than Cristiano
21:24 for your goal against Juventus?
21:26 Are you more of a superhuman than Cristiano Ronaldo?
21:29 Yeah, I'm aware of this.
21:34 Obviously, this is my first goal for Milan, so that was a really,
21:36 really proud moment.
21:38 And then after the game or a few, maybe a few days away, it was after.
21:42 Yeah, I managed.
21:45 I saw that day everyone was talking about how I dropped higher than him.
21:47 More superhuman than him?
21:50 I'm not sure. I mean, he's got he's got so many records.
21:53 I mean, I'm never going to score as many goals as he has.
21:55 So, you know, in that aspect, he's definitely more superhuman than me.
21:58 But, you know, maybe on this in this particular jump.
22:01 Yeah, I managed to get the best of him.
22:03 I know that he's known again for his jumping and his aerial ability.
22:08 So again, that's something I want to improve on as much as I can.
22:12 But yeah, this specific goal.
22:15 Yeah, I know about the record and
22:19 maybe one day I can I can even better it.
22:21 So that's that's that's that's a little objective of mine, I guess.
22:25 But yeah, for sure.
22:26 Being more superhuman than him,
22:29 I'm not sure about that, but I'll take I'll take this record over him.
22:32 On the subject of going for goal, you took three kicks in both matches
22:37 against PSG.
22:39 Are goals from free kicks something you are working on?
22:42 And are you turning into the new David Beckham?
22:44 New David Beckham? No, because I haven't scored one.
22:46 This one, it was actually going in.
22:48 It was it was going in. He just got his got his head on the top of it.
22:51 But yeah, in training, we have we have a little
22:55 we have a rule that after training before the games, we take free kicks.
22:59 And no, I was I was surprisingly for everyone else.
23:03 No, I don't think I knew I could actually take free kicks.
23:05 So I guess it's just it's just about practicing and just about trying to
23:09 trying to trying to better.
23:12 We've got a lot of people that take free kicks like Oli, Theo, Yasin,
23:17 Isma, even Florenzi as well.
23:20 He's another one. He'll kill me if I don't see him.
23:22 But yeah, Florenzi is another one who can take free kicks.
23:25 And, you know, this season, we haven't scored a free kick.
23:27 I think it was called one free kick or two free kicks since I've actually been in Milan.
23:30 So, yeah, I'm trying to it's definitely somewhere I can I can lay my name to.
23:36 But yeah, I guess it's just another
23:40 another bow to the arrow that I could add for sure.
23:45 You have had so many excellent games for Milan, it's tough to choose one,
23:49 but we have selected your man of the match winning performance against Tottenham
23:53 in the Champions League.
23:54 Considering how crucial the game was,
23:56 do you think it was one of your best performances in a Milan shirt?
24:00 Yeah, I think I think it was that game, you know, going back to England,
24:06 playing at Tottenham, I think it was the last 16.
24:08 I was back in London, my friends and family were there.
24:11 Yeah, and it was the second leg of the Champions League.
24:14 We were one-nil up trying to defend the lead.
24:15 And yeah, that game was just about that was a collective team effort
24:19 where we kept a clean sheet and we just kind of tried to keep it tight and score
24:22 where we could. Obviously, we didn't manage to score, but we didn't concede any goals.
24:26 And, you know, it was actually this game, the first leg,
24:29 I just missed out on because I was injured and I was really like,
24:32 I was down about that, I couldn't help the team,
24:34 but they managed to get the job done in the first half, in the first leg, sorry.
24:38 And then the second leg, I was really, really, really determined to not mess up
24:42 the work the team had done in the first leg.
24:44 But yeah, I remember this game really well.
24:46 It was a really good game back in England, as I said.
24:49 And yeah, I think there's just certain games where you don't know why,
24:53 but you know, you're just in the flow and everything's just happening for you
24:56 and you feel so good.
24:57 And yeah, this is one of the games where, you know, everything was very clear.
25:02 And yeah, the whole team had a great performance.
25:04 And yeah, I was really happy to be back in the first leg.
25:06 I was really happy with the performance and I was really happy with how we played.
25:10 And obviously, more importantly, happy with how we ended up going through
25:14 to the quarterfinal that year.
25:16 And obviously, playing against Harry Kane, who I know from the national team,
25:20 you know, you have to be extra, extra switched on because of the quality that he has.
25:24 So yeah, that's what we did.
25:27 He didn't manage to score over both legs.
25:29 And yeah, we're really happy with that.
25:31 I'm a bit angry I didn't get the foul.
25:35 I'm a bit angry I didn't get the foul.
25:37 I'm a bit angry I didn't get the foul.

25:49 I'm a bit angry I didn't get the foul.
25:51 I'm a bit angry I didn't get the foul.
25:53 I'm a bit angry I didn't get the foul.
25:55 I'm a bit angry I didn't get the foul.
25:57 I'm a bit angry I didn't get the foul.
25:59 I'm a bit angry I didn't get the foul.

26:25 I'm a bit angry I didn't get the foul.
26:27 I'm a bit angry I didn't get the foul.
26:29 I'm a bit angry I didn't get the foul.
