00:00 This is what we've learned from six days of public hearings here at the ICJ
00:05 looking into the legal consequences of Israel's occupation of the Palestinian territories.
00:10 The Palestinian legal team are using this case to ask the judges to declare Israel's occupation of their territory illegal.
00:20 Going on to say that their opinion here could help reach a two-state solution.
00:25 But Israel disagrees. While it hasn't made an oral argument in a written statement,
00:31 it said the court's involvement could be harmful to reaching a negotiated settlement.
00:36 Over 50 countries have made presentations in this case, including China and the United States.
00:42 It's the largest number of parties to participate in a single ICJ case
00:47 since the court was founded all the way back in 1945.
00:50 And finally, don't expect an immediate answer. It will likely take about six months for the judges to come back with their advisory opinion.
00:59 And even when they do, it won't be legally binding.
