00:00 Good news because not only those who reach 100 years of age
00:05 will receive benefits from the government.
00:08 Under the law, even those over 80 years of age will receive benefits.
00:15 How much? Let's find out in the story of Ivan Mayrina.
00:18 Since 2016, more than 9,000 Filipinos have benefited from the Centenarian Law
00:27 that gives 100,000 pesos to every Filipino who reaches 100 years of age.
00:32 But in the signed amendment to the law,
00:34 not only centenarians or Filipinos over 100 years of age will receive benefits,
00:39 even octogenarians or those over 80 years of age
00:42 and nonagenarians or those over 70 years of age will also receive benefits.
00:47 Under the new law, Filipinos upon reaching the age of 80
00:51 shall receive a cash gift of 10,000 pesos every 5 years thereafter.
00:57 And upon reaching the age of 85, 90 and until 95,
01:02 we do after all stand on the shoulders of these giants.
01:07 The fund for this year is 2.2 billion pesos
01:11 and it needs to be registered in the Office of Senior Citizens Affairs of your local government.
01:16 Aside from that, the President also signed the TATAC-Pinoy Act
01:19 that requires the support of Filipino products and services,
01:22 particularly government procurement.
01:24 TATAC-Pinoy is more than a branding exercise.
01:27 It is about incubating and incentivizing great products
01:31 that deserve to carry the "Made in the Philippines" trademark.
01:35 The President did not sign the Magna Carta for Seafarers.
01:39 This law is one of the ways for the Philippines to comply with
01:42 the International Maritime Rules and Standards.
01:44 But the President still wants to review it.
01:47 The House and Senate agreed on the Charter Change.
01:51 The President thanked the leaders of the two countries.
01:54 It proves once again the tenet that bicameralism
01:57 was designed to bring together the brilliance of two bodies through compromise.
02:02 For GM Integrated News, Ivan Meirene, Nakatutok, 24.
