00:16 which do not only honor two key sectors of society,

00:19 but mandate measures that protect their rights

00:23 and promote their development.

00:24 The Tatak Pinoy Act provides the impetus

00:28 that will nurture innovative and inventive ideas.

00:31 To our active 80-somethings and lively 90-somethings,

00:36 the expanded Centenarians Act confers upon you the thanks

00:41 of a grateful nation that you have made strong and stable

00:45 through your labors.

00:46 Each of these laws encapsulates the merits

00:49 that the Bagong Pilipinas upholds

00:51 over building a stronger nation.

00:53 Tatak Pinoy is more than a branding exercise as it is

00:57 about incubating and incentivizing great products

01:01 that deserve to carry the made in the Philippines trademark.

01:05 It's not about simply slapping labels on goods and services,

01:11 but showing their provenance proudly

01:13 that they are Gawang Pinoy.

01:16 The expansion of the coverage

01:19 of the Centenarians Act is a homage

01:22 to the Filipino trait of compassion.

01:24 And in our culture, none are showered with more kind

01:27 and loving care than our elderly.

01:30 Under the new law, Filipinos upon reaching the age of 80,

01:34 shall receive a cash gift of 10,000 pesos

01:38 in every five years thereafter.

01:40 And upon reaching the age of 85, 90, and until 95.

01:45 We do, after all, stand on the shoulders of these giants.

01:50 But they deserve more than cash in an envelope.

01:54 What they should get is the support infrastructure

01:57 that every society owes to its graying population.
