00:00 Seemingly endless stream of people arriving from Ukraine on foot over this border crossing.
00:05 They are mostly women and children, but there are also men.
00:10 Most of them have no intention of going back to Ukraine until the bloodshed is over.
00:16 There are three refugee centers in the Polish city of Przemysl.
00:21 Behind these doors is one of them.
00:23 It is located in a former warehouse right under a working restaurant.
00:29 Between 30 and 40 refugees from Ukraine are here at this moment.
00:35 This center is run by the Hope Foundation, providing a first shelter for those who have
00:40 left their lives in their home country behind.
00:44 Like Natalia from the Ukrainian region of Sumy.
00:47 Her husband and brother died on the front line and she managed to flee with one child.
00:53 Now she is waiting for her other child to join them so they can try to continue their
00:57 lives elsewhere.
01:02 The refugees are coming in large numbers and we are very grateful to Poland for accepting
01:07 us.
01:08 I have read on the internet and seen videos that say it is safe to be in Ukraine.
01:12 I know that is not true and on the contrary, the very bad situation there is getting worse.
01:18 And this is Marina and she is another refugee.
01:22 She came from the Lugansk region together with her 17-year-old son.
01:26 She says she left in order to protect him.
01:34 We contacted the Rubika's NGO with a plea to help us leave the country.
01:38 They met us in the Ukrainian town of Lviv and they brought us here.
01:42 After they will take us from Przemysl to Berlin and from Berlin to Freiburg.
01:48 Other NGOs in Przemysl also say the number of refugees from Ukraine is increasing.
01:54 There are two or three days of relative calm and after those more refugees arrive, people
02:02 who simply need our help.
02:04 Because of what is happening in Ukraine, people simply feel worried that something more serious
02:08 can happen to those close to them.
02:11 Anxiety, uncertainty and a sense of desperation are visible on the people's faces here.
02:18 With clashes intensifying in the Donbas region and more frequent attacks across Ukraine,
02:22 it is likely that soon there will be more faces like this in the town of Przemysl.
02:29 Aljosha Milenkovic, CGTN, at the Polish-Ukrainian border.
