A Dementia Cafe has been set up for residents and members of the public for an afternoon of entertainment, advice and refreshments, every month at Belong Wigan, Platt Bridge.

00:00 Hi, I'm Shirlene Brodsham. I work at The Long in Platbridge. I'm the Experience Day Coordinator here.

00:06 This is the venue and we run Abyss Cafe, which is a dementia cafe monthly here.

00:12 Our Abyss Dementia Cafe is open for our residents but also to members of the public.

00:17 You're free to join us whenever you like. It's all free of charge.

00:21 We serve tea and coffee, biscuits, cakes. We also have entertainment alongside of it.

00:26 We also have an Admiral Nurse who comes to the event as well.

00:31 You can speak to her freely about anything that you want to.
