Nifty Closes At New Record High | NDTV Profit Market Wrap

00:00 Well, it's the second consecutive day where the Nifty has recorded or rather in fact now
00:04 closed at record highs.
00:06 We've settled just below the 2200 mark, a third of a percent higher on the Nifty 50,
00:14 largely driven by banks.
00:15 But let's quickly look at the heat map first, 1.2 percent higher on the Nifty bank.

00:24 But when you see the top five, you'll see three of them being the large private sector

00:39 four and a half percent, sorry, four and a half percent on Power Grid and two percent

00:45 It's a fantastic coat of green there at the top.
00:48 Among the laggards, four percent low on Hiromoto, Coal India on the back of some.
00:53 Common Tree has been, has seen a second consecutive day of declines.
00:56 But outside of that, you've seen the IT and the AutoPAC leading the declines, except for
01:02 that Bajaj FinServ there.
01:04 And then you have a supply as well.
01:06 But let's quickly take it to the Nifty bank, because that's the sector of the day definitely,
01:11 because the way in which they've led some of those gains.
01:16 Look at that, two percent higher across the board for Kotak, Axis, HDFC.
01:21 Then you add IndusInd, Bob, PNB, ICICI, which has led for some time, Bob, PNB, ICICI have
01:29 really led markets for some time and are taking a bit of a backseat today.
01:34 Let's quickly also look at sectors, because you will see some other sectors also emerge
01:39 as winners today.
01:40 The Nifty Media has done fairly well.
01:43 The FinNifty has done well on the day of, in fact, closing.
01:47 You're also seeing gains on the Nifty Realty, one point two percent higher.
01:51 And you're seeing a mixed bag even in terms of the losers, IT, auto, metal, pharma, four
01:56 big losers along with FMCG among the sectoral indices.
02:00 And despite that, we've clocked highs.
02:02 Where have we lost out in the mid and the small cap space?
02:05 Broader markets, you're looking at the mid cap index closing just about a tenth of a
02:09 percent lower, absolutely flat, negative bias.
02:12 The small cap index closing around four tenths of a percent lower.
02:16 But it's a day where it's been led by the benchmarks.
