I rode an authentic Indian Tuk-Tuk around UK coastal town

I went for a ride in a Tuk-Tuk - a three-wheeled vehicle that's commonly used as a taxi in developing countries.   It was imported from India, and will soon be used to deliver meals from Jai Lounge restaurant in St Annes.

00:00 So this is like an authentic Indian tuk-tuk. What is it like to drive?

00:10 It's beautiful, yeah.

00:12 The tuk-tuk was an idea that we had when we first opened. It was part of the plan in starting here

00:22 and it arrived in September 2022. It was imported from India and we had it all branded last week

00:31 and then we're going to be, we've also ordered another two which will be arriving shortly and

00:37 the whole idea is just to go around town, live in St Anne's and just for promotion and

00:42 making letting people know that we're here.

00:45 I think this could be the future for delivery.

00:48 I don't know, yeah, hopefully, yeah.

00:49 So it's promotion at the moment but you do have some bigger plans?

01:14 Yeah, bigger plans we have for delivery once the other two arrive. We have expansion plans

01:20 which we were granted from Fylde Council to extend the business as well. It's going to be

01:26 almost six, seven times bigger than what it is actually now.

01:30 So we'll be doing live music, a champagne cocktail bar lounge and a 60-seater restaurant.

01:42 Is it a bit like riding a motorcycle?

01:44 It is really, yeah, but obviously you've just got three wheels, don't you? So yeah,

01:47 you've just got to be careful when you turn.

01:49 It's on three wheels?

01:50 Yeah, three wheels, yeah.

01:51 Oh wow.

01:52 Yeah, it's different, isn't it?

01:59 It feels a bit more sort of like unsteady than being in a car.

02:04 Yeah, it is, yeah, it's a bit of freewheeling, especially when you're on handles and slopes

02:14 We sell Indian fusion food, street food, which is very popular and we open seven days a week,

02:33 Monday to Sunday from 11.30am to 11pm.
