00:00 The Nifty 50 closed 3.5% higher to close the week out.
00:04 In terms of where the mid-cap and the small-cap indices lie
00:08 and the broader markets, they closed largely
00:11 in line with the Nifty.
00:13 In terms of the advance decline as well,
00:15 we saw the advance decline.
00:17 In fact, midday, it was at its peak
00:19 in terms in favor of the advances.
00:21 But slowly, we saw it taper towards the end of the day,
00:25 where the advance decline was 1,000 to 700
00:27 in favor of the advances.
00:30 Let me quickly take it to sectors.
00:32 Two, three sectors which were in focus today.
00:33 One was the Nifty Auto, top sectoral gainer, 2% plus higher,
00:38 gained from strength to strength through the day,
00:40 the Nifty Auto, aided largely by M&M, the top gainer
00:44 on the Nifty Auto for the day as well as for the week.
00:47 No surprises there after the kind of commentary
00:49 coming through as well as after the results that
00:51 have come through.
00:53 Also, in terms of the other one in focus was the Nifty Pharma.
00:58 Strong gains that we saw at the start of the day.
01:00 In fact, 19 of the 20 constituents
01:03 closed in the green, with only Sun Pharma closing
01:07 absolutely flat, slight negative bias had closed.
01:09 But outside of that, all constituents in the green
01:12 on the Nifty Pharma.
01:13 But nonetheless, wasn't the top sectoral gainer.
01:16 It ebbed towards the fag end of the session.
01:19 We saw the Nifty Pharma close up around 1.6% at close.
01:24 So not a bad day for Pharma as well.
01:27 Nifty Realty was the other gainer, 1.5% higher.
01:29 And one more which I wish to mark
01:31 is the Nifty IT, 1.3% higher in trade today.
01:35 So those were the four key indices which gained.
01:38 Among the losers, not much to talk about.
01:40 The Nifty PSU Bank was down around a third of a percent.
01:42 And the Nifty Energy Index was down around 6/10 of a percent.
01:46 That's where we close.
01:47 In terms of the week, let me first take it
01:49 across to the Nifty Mid Cap.
01:52 It gained for a third week in a row.
01:54 The Nifty Small Cap closed in the red
01:56 for a second week in a row, despite closing
01:58 in the green today.
01:59 You have the Nifty Auto, which was the top sectoral gainer.
02:02 Bosch and M&M took the lead with regard
02:05 to the gains made for the week and aided the Nifty Auto.
02:10 Nifty Metal was the top laggard in trade this week.
02:13 Hindalco Sale dragged the Nifty Metal down.
02:16 Nifty Metal closed in the red and broke a two-week gaining
02:20 streak.
02:21 That's, of course, the wrap for the week.
