Centre-right Alexander Stubb faces Pekka Haavisto from the green left in Finland's presidential election.
Transcript
00:00 Citizens in Finland head to the polls this Sunday to decide on a new president in a second and decisive round of voting.
00:09 Former Prime Minister Alexander Stubbe from the centre-right faces former Foreign Minister Pekka Havisto on the green-left.
00:18 Stubbe took the top spot in the first round of the election in January with 27.2% of the votes.
00:26 He is the favourite to win the presidency.
00:29 Havisto, on the other hand, took home only 25.8%.
00:35 The winner's main task will be to guide the new NATO members' foreign and security policy amid Russia's grinding invasion of Ukraine.
00:44 The pair largely agree on some issues already.
00:48 These include maintaining a hard line towards Russia, which shares a border with Finland, strengthening security ties with Washington and helping Ukraine.
00:57 - Thanks.
