Transcript
00:00 The Philippine 10-pin Bowling Deaf Association is now preparing for the first Asian Deaf International Bowling Championships
00:07 that will be held in the Philippines.
00:09 This is Bernadette Tinoy's report.
00:11 The Philippine 10-pin Bowling Deaf Association announced that out of the 12 players,
00:19 the country is the one preparing for the first Asian Deaf International Bowling Championships
00:24 that will be held in the Philippines.
00:27 According to PTBDA President Christopher Uy,
00:30 the tournament is designed to give hearing-impaired bowlers the opportunity
00:34 to showcase their talent in the sport.
00:37 This event will make awareness for the hearing and for the deaf.
00:43 And these sports will help the community.
00:46 And we can make our own tournament also with the help of the hearing counterpart.
00:54 Uy added that four countries have shown interest in participating in the tournament
00:58 and it is possible that it will reach 15 countries before the registration closes on April 14.
01:04 The agency also announced that the bowling tournament will be open to all deaf athletes,
01:09 regardless of their age or gender.
01:11 We welcome everyone.
01:14 We don't have an age bracket.
01:16 It depends on who has dreams and skills.
01:20 So if someone wants to come to us and they appreciate our training, that's how we choose.
01:27 Because if it's just by age, it's limited.
01:30 So there are people who have skills, so we don't want to bias them.
01:36 The Asian Deaf Championships will be held this May 23-30 in Santa Lucia East Bowling Center
01:43 in Quinta Rizal, Bernadette, Tinoy for Pambadsang TV in Bagong, Philippines.
