00:00 E-bikes, they make towns and cities better for people.
00:03 They cut congestion, improve the air quality,
00:07 they get people a bit more active,
00:11 and help to contribute to improving public health.
00:14 Since launching in Cornwall, there
00:17 have been over 133,000 journeys on the e-bikes.
00:22 That's covering almost 350,000 kilometers,
00:27 so pretty much nine times around the world.
00:31 And also, they've saved almost 10 tons
00:33 of carbon dioxide emissions.
00:35 So the bikes are a really great way, particularly
00:39 with the e-assist, to explore a place.
00:42 They can make the Cornish Hills a little bit more
00:45 accessible to riders that may find that useful,
00:50 and also allow them to undertake longer journeys as well.
00:54 They're also really convenient for commuting,
00:57 and dropping the car for short journeys.
00:59 Our latest annual rider report tells us
01:02 that Beryl is more integrated than ever before
01:05 into shared transport systems.
01:07 When commuting, 31% of riders actually
01:11 use the bikes to connect to other modes of transport,
01:14 so trains, buses, even car clubs.
01:18 And that's actually an increase since 2022.
01:23 The mid-Cornwall metro will connect
01:25 four of Cornwall's largest towns and cities, all of which
01:28 have Beryl e-bikes in them, opening up sustainable
01:32 transport options for the people living there,
01:34 and making the towns and cities even better connected.
