00:00 You see, bhog is not something that is possible for us.
00:23 So bhog without yoga is a contradiction.
00:28 Have you ever seen a man shivering, trembling in fear?
00:34 Is he able to eat?
00:35 Where is bhog then?
00:39 Where there is no yoga, there is fear.
00:44 And where there is fear, how will you even partake in the simple delights of the world?
00:52 Bhog won't happen.
00:55 Even to experience the world, that's what I call as bhog, an experience of the world.
01:00 Even to really and truly experience the world, you need to have a solid core, a unified core.
01:06 That is what is called yoga, a unified core, a heart that is not shattered, a mind that
01:12 is not divided and split and fragmented.
01:15 Otherwise, how will you experience the world?
01:18 You look at the people around, do you really feel that they are able to experience anything?
01:23 Have people really experienced the delights that existence has to offer?
01:30 Do we even experience happiness deeply?
01:35 Do we even experience sadness deeply?
01:39 Have you seen how many barriers we raise against sadness?
01:44 The moment somebody is all in tears, his relatives pounce upon him.
01:48 Why are you weeping so much?
01:52 The sweetheart has died.
01:55 The man can't even weep.
01:58 You are allowed to weep till a point and then sadness is not permissible.
02:03 Where is the question of bhog?
02:08 The elements of bhog that are classically talked of, food, sex, pleasures in things,
02:15 pleasures in places, do they happen with us?
02:19 You are so afraid that you can't leave your job.
02:24 How will you go and visit the world?
02:30 Is bhog happening?
02:31 Look at the common, normal, professional.
02:39 He gets 10 days of leaves a year.
02:42 Alright, 25.
02:44 15 are consumed by sickness and chicken guniya and such things.
02:51 So de facto he is left with 10 days.
02:55 How much can he consume in these 10 days?
02:59 Go to the West.
03:02 There, because of many kinds of securities available, fear is a little less.
03:09 Social security is there and financial security is a little better than what we have here.
03:16 So they are able to quit jobs and they are able to wander around.
03:21 Now there is some bhog.
03:23 Now there is a little bhog.
03:28 But the man who is clinging to his job as he is clinging to dear life because he is
03:34 shivering what will happen to my future if I lose my job, how will he?
03:40 Without yoga no bhog ever happens.
03:43 It is a great misperception and an overestimation and an unnecessary self-gratification to tell
03:57 ourselves that even without being yogast we are experiencing, we are consuming the world.
04:06 No we are not.
04:07 What do we know of the world?
04:10 We are born on this earth.
04:11 What do we know of this earth?
04:15 The word bhog comes very commonly in the environment of sexual gratification.
04:24 Does that happen?
04:29 Look at the lives of people around you.
04:32 Are they really find any gratification in sex?
04:35 The entire day you are spending in stress, all kinds of rubbish, tension, pushing others,
04:46 getting pulled, getting split.
04:50 What kind of sexual activity is then possible?
04:54 Sex is for the free-minded.
04:57 What bhog is possible?
05:02 Very soon before you reach the age of 35, one's fears, one's desires, one's greed make
05:16 one wild and one develops a tummy this big and there are three kids.
05:27 Where is the question of sambhog now?
05:34 Is that not the reality of every household?
05:37 Bhog, sambhog all gone.
05:40 Without yoga no bhog.
05:45 A Krishna really enjoys the world.
05:49 We don't.
05:50 Krishna is yogiraj.
05:55 The Shiva really enjoys the world.
05:59 Shakti is the world because Shiva is the Adiyogi.
06:07 We don't enjoy the world.
06:08 We lead very barren lives.
06:16 Roti, sabzi, dal, chawal.
06:17 Full stop.
06:18 Where is bhog?
06:19 Forget about international cuisine.
06:20 Do we even try out the various kinds of foods available around us in this country?
06:37 We are prejudiced and where there is prejudice, where is the question of bhog?
06:51 If you are happy beyond a point, you are cautioned, even admonished.
06:59 You are just being too happy.
07:03 Very soon you will meet your fall.
07:09 As they say nazar lag jayegi.
07:10 You can't even be fully happy.
07:13 You can't be too sad.
07:14 You can't be too happy.
07:15 Where is the question of bhog?
07:24 You can't sit still.
07:25 You sit still, somebody would come and say, "Why are you turning into a stone?
07:34 You dance too much, people will come and restrict you."
07:37 "What are you doing?
07:40 Not the way of decency."
07:41 Sushila ji just called up.
07:50 You too must be Sushila.
07:58 You know what is Sushila?
08:09 Where is bhog?
08:39 Every breath is a reminder of joy, but only when you are available to that experience,
08:52 not when your mind is absorbed in trivia and ten types of occupations.
09:05 You talk of roti.
09:08 Every morsel is a reminder of the delight that life is, but only when you are available
09:18 to really experience that morsel.
09:21 We don't eat.
09:23 We stuff ourselves.
09:28 Where is bhog?
09:51 The funny part is there is no bhog yet we so feel guilty about excessive bhog.
10:21 Only we keep consuming and we have consumed so much that the earth is threatened now and
10:27 the desire for consumption keeps on increasing, but really gratification is not happening.
10:37 Consumption is there.
10:38 A lot of food can be consumed, yet there is no gratification.
10:45 True gratification comes with an inner fullness, with gratitude, without gratitude there is
10:51 no real gratification and that is why consumption keeps increasing.
10:57 In search of gratification consumption keeps increasing.
11:01 You keep consuming more and more in the hope that quantity will lead to quality.
11:10 You keep increasing the kilos, the inches, the quantity, the numbers in the hope that
11:20 numbers will lead to something that is not numerable, that is not measurable in numbers.
11:31 It doesn't matter how much you run along the dimension of numbers that will not take you
11:38 into the dimension of the innumerable, immeasurable.
11:52 Why is the man buying one car after the other?
11:55 Have you ever asked him?
11:58 So that he can get some gratification that he doesn't get.
12:07 Why is the man offering much more than he can eat?
12:10 You have called the waiter and he is like this, this, this, this, this and even the
12:17 waiter is wondering, "Sir, how many more are to come?
12:23 You said a table for two and you ordered food enough for eight people, but the fellow just
12:30 ordered a table for eight people, maybe something would give me that little touch, that little
12:38 heavenly delight.
12:41 Let me try much more than I can really have.
12:46 Maybe something will suffice, maybe something will click.
12:50 Nothing clicks.
12:52 One keeps trying.
12:54 If bhoga means just gross consumption, then yes, bhoga is happening.
13:05 But if bhoga means really being delighted, then there is no bhoga.
13:16 It doesn't matter how many thousands and lakhs and crores you have spent.
13:21 Have you really ever been delighted?
13:25 Remember that delight is not reversible.
13:34 One moment's delight is a permanent upliftment.
13:40 You cannot say I was delighted once and then I returned to my base state.
13:46 That is not possible.
13:49 The poet said, "A thing of beauty is joy forever.
13:58 It has a certain timelessness forever."
14:02 Has anything lasted forever for you, any delight?
14:07 You had a great evening, did it last?
14:14 You had a great honeymoon, did it last?
14:23 Great vodka, did it last?
14:31 You are left with the hangover and probably the pills.
14:48 Nothing lasts.
14:55 You see our peculiar situation?
14:58 We are people who just cannot consume and yet we are destroying this planet with excessive
15:06 consumption.
15:10 Like a man whose intestines are now all rotten, perforated, intestines having holes.
15:26 So he cannot absorb anything but he keeps eating a lot in the hope that if he'll eat
15:34 a lot maybe something will be absorbed.
15:39 How can anything be absorbed when your entire canal from here till there is perforated?
15:47 Nothing is absorbed but you keep putting in a lot.
15:50 That's man's condition, very peculiar.
15:58 It requires, you know of that, right?
16:01 It's all in the news.
16:02 It requires many earths to provide for our levels of consumption.
16:09 This little planet won't suffice.
16:17 These excesses have a spiritual base to them because the lives of mankind are devoid of
16:30 spirituality.
16:32 That is why man is eating away this planet and hence only true and innocent spirituality
16:46 is the solution.
16:48 You can keep trying fancy treaties, various agreements and such things.
16:53 They are not going to work.
16:57 You won't be able to control the temperature rise.
16:59 It is already being said that a 2 degree rise is too much to ask.
17:13 Already we are looking at a 3.2 degree centigrade rise in temperature by the end of this century
17:20 and what's responsible for that?
17:22 Man's unmitigated greed.
17:24 You keep on, everybody wants to have more cars and bigger malls.
17:32 When you are inside a mall, a shopping mall that is, have you ever wondered about its
17:37 carbon footprint?
17:38 Have you ever thought what's the ecological cost of the entire air conditioning?
17:49 But you are consuming or so you think.
17:55 You think that you are consuming because you spend a lot there.
17:58 Because you come back with fancy packets in hand and a tummy full of the flesh of lots
18:06 of innocent animals.
18:10 So you think that you have consumed.
18:16 We don't consume, we think that we have consumed.
18:23 Consumption hasn't happened.
18:31 The Isha Vastu Upanishad says something very beautiful in this regard.
18:39 It says, "Consume with dispassion".
18:50 It instructs you to consume.
18:57 That's the opening verse.
19:02 "Tyakten, with tyag, consume".
19:14 You don't need it really.
19:17 You are fulfilled.
19:20 You don't have expectations of spiritual fulfillment.
19:24 You don't have a void within.
19:26 And now you have a relationship with the food.
19:32 You are okay.
19:33 You are not afraid.
19:34 You are not desirous really.
19:37 Now you have a relationship with food.
19:39 That's quite strange.
19:43 When you consume because of desire, it's desire that consumes you.
19:49 You haven't consumed anything.
19:52 And when you consume without desire, then you really consume.
19:57 You will get up and ask, "But why will we consume if we don't have desire?"
20:01 Because all our consumption is born out of "Aaah".
20:06 That's what the Upanishads and the Buddha have taught.
20:10 To consume without desire.
20:13 Yes, that is possible.
20:20 The desire that they are talking of is the inner faithlessness.
20:26 Most of our desires proceed from there.
20:30 Proceed to consume without faithlessness.
20:34 Don't consume as if consumption will give you joy.
20:40 If your life is godless, don't think that consumption will give you God.
20:45 But that's how we consume.
20:48 When the next car or the next woman arrives in our life, we feel as if God has arrived.
20:56 Because our lives are ungodly, so we are looking for God in iron and flesh.
21:06 Have a godly life and then if life so plays it out, have a car as well.
21:20 Have God, then have car.
21:24 It would be God's car.
21:29 Have God, then have a man or woman in life.
21:33 It would be a godly relationship.
21:36 But if you have a car as a substitute for God, as a replacement for God, as a proxy
21:42 for God, then the car would disappoint you and the woman would irritate you as they do.
21:58 You are asking too much from her and the woman too is asking too much from the man.
22:07 You want from the woman what only God can give you and the woman wants from the man
22:11 what only God can give.
22:16 Total contentment is what you want and the man and the woman are going to fail and then
22:23 you are annoyed and then you say, you know.
22:28 It was a bogus decision.
22:46 Heat of the moment and now I am paying for it.
23:01 How much do you want to pay?
23:05 You are already a pauper.
