Over 20 people jailed for 57 years after 18-month operation targeting Doncaster drug dealers

00:00 Over the past 18 months we have been running an intensive operation here in Doncaster

00:04 in which we have been targeting drug dealers in the city and the surrounding area.

00:08 Drugs are a scourge in our society and we have listened to the concerns that you have raised about drug dealing in the Doncaster area.

00:14 They fund organised crime groups who wreak havoc and misery on our local communities

00:19 driving other types of crime that affect many more people in the wider community.

00:23 And our officers have been working hard behind the scenes to gather intelligence

00:27 in order to disrupt supply lines and dismantle organised crime groups.

00:31 With careful and precise planning, over 100 people have been arrested on suspicion of supplying drugs in the Doncaster area

00:38 since May 2023 as part of this operation alone.

00:42 This has resulted in over 20 people working across various drug lines in Doncaster

00:47 being jailed after being convicted of drug offences.

00:50 These conservative sentences are the result of months of hard work but this is just the tip of the iceberg.

00:57 We are confident of bringing even more drug dealers to justice in the coming weeks and months

01:02 as we continue to progress and build on the momentum this operation has given us.

01:07 By disrupting drug lines and seizing significant amounts of Class A and Class B drugs
