00:00 It was not approved by the parents. It was burned twice.
00:03 That's just a few of the trials that Cyril Jane Jacinto went through
00:07 before his business, Fashion Boutique, became successful.
00:11 We will get to know him better and his business story.
00:15 Let's go to Negosyo Tayo.
00:17 Through clothes and accessories, we can express our personality and identity.
00:26 That's why we will meet a fashion boutique business today
00:31 to know their secrets on how to have a successful business.
00:36 Hi, good morning.
00:43 Hi, Ms. Diane. Good morning.
00:46 Alright, Cyril, to start off, can you tell us more about your business journey?
00:49 How did you start?
00:51 I used to handle models, queens.
00:54 They needed clothes.
00:57 We didn't have a lot of budget before, so I was the only one who made clothes for the models.
01:02 I was the one who handled it. That's how it started.
01:04 So your business really came out. Everything from passion, this is what you love to do.
01:10 What you do is you make gowns, from formal wear to casual wear.
01:15 Yes, costumes, coat, pants, everything.
01:18 You also make RTWs.
01:20 Yes, everything.
01:21 Can you tell me about your struggles along the way, building this business?
01:26 You went through a lot, Cyril.
01:28 In 2015, I was burned by my first shop.
01:31 The pandemic hit, and this is the second time I was burned.
01:36 Two times?
01:37 Yes, in 2019.
01:39 But this is more serious because I was burned by a third degree burn.
01:44 So, when you have these struggles, what's on your mind?
01:48 How did you start again?
01:49 I always think that all material things will be lost,
01:55 but your talent, your passion, your love for the craft you do,
02:00 it will not be stolen, lost, or burned.
02:04 So that's what you held on to, to be able to start again with your business journey?
02:08 Yes. A lot of people say that you were burned again, you were down again,
02:14 but you don't have to take everyone's opinion because you will make it yourself,
02:20 you will succeed.
02:21 I took them as an instrument to hold on to everything you said,
02:26 and then I will give it back to you.
02:28 When I returned, I got what I wanted again.
02:30 And when you returned, you were stronger?
02:32 Yes.
02:33 The two times you were burned was not a joke, it was painful.
02:36 I want to know all the lessons that you have learned from it.
02:39 Maybe you would like to share.
02:41 I am the only one in my family who has this kind of business.
02:44 My mom is a soldier, my dad is a police officer.
02:47 They struggled when they gave birth to someone like me.
02:51 But I know that this is my craft, this is my dream,
02:55 so I made a way to use what I want.
02:59 That's when my name started to boom because of the people who helped me.
03:04 When I was down.
03:06 So what do you do to be able to stand out?
03:08 I am super friendly with my clients.
03:10 And then, of course, my presence in the event, I also go there.
03:14 So there's support?
03:16 Yes, support the event, that the designer is there, that you will not be left behind.
03:21 Why is it important for every Filipino to do business?
03:25 Because if we don't do business, we will not have anything to do with our lives.
03:30 Maybe we will just be a side or we will just be a side.
03:33 So for me, even if it's just a little, you will reach the end.
