Iraq strongly denounced the retaliatory US strikes targeting pro-Iran armed groups within its borders, labelling them a "blatant violation of Iraqi sovereignty." The country issued a stern warning about the potential "disastrous consequences" that could unfold not only for Iraq but also for the broader region. General Yehia Rasool, spokesperson for Prime Minister Mohamed Shia Al-Sudani, emphasised the impact on the security and stability of Iraq and its neighbouring areas in response to the strikes conducted on Friday in western Iraq near the Syrian border.
