250 indigent senior citizens receive social pension payout;

Over 270k motor vehicles renew registration in January

00:11 Around 250 indigent senior citizens from different barangays in Quezon City received
00:18 their social pension worth six thousand pesos. This payout for the first batch of indigent
00:24 senior citizens also marks the culmination of the Department of Social Welfare and Development
00:29 or DSWD's 73rd founding anniversary. DSWD Secretary Rex Gachalian expresses his gratitude to President
00:38 Ferdinand R. Marquez Jr. as well as the First Lady for recognizing and prioritizing the welfare of
00:44 senior citizens. More than 270,000 motor vehicles had their expired registrations renewed from
00:52 January 1 to 31. The Land Transportation Office or LTO also reported the highest number of vehicle
00:58 registration renewals was from the National Capital Region with more than 48,000. According
01:04 to LTO Assistant Secretary Vigoro Mendoza, the agency has been monitoring regional offices to
01:10 promote the no registration, no travel policy. This to check the status of the road safety
01:15 initiatives and observe each of the regional offices' programs, projects and good practices.
