English Bicknor WI ladies get crafty to raise over £1,000 for Forest of Dean Children's Opportunity Centre

00:00 English Big Men ladies presenting you with this cheque. The money has been raised over

00:06 the last 18 months through various events. The main one of which was at a Forest Showcase

00:14 in Speech House, I'm sure you're all aware of it, where our craft ladies worked tirelessly

00:22 producing a huge amount of beautiful items which we took. They were so well received

00:29 and we sold so much which was an absolute delight for all of us. We were also able while

00:36 we were there to not only promote our WI but to really push to people, especially people

00:43 who didn't really know what the Opportunity Centre was all about and explain to them what

00:48 it was all about. I think that really helped us to sell even more stuff to people like

00:54 us because they felt they were supported in such a lovely local place. So basically, what

01:04 else was I going to say? Not too much obviously! Many of our ladies have connections over the

01:11 years to the Opportunity Centre. I think that makes it close to our hearts and we know that

01:17 the money will go to good use. Thank you very much.
