00:24 America is now helping the Philippines to imbue electricity from renewable energy.

00:33 We have a place, a country, the Philippines, that is tailor-made for renewable energy.

00:40 You've got all the sun you could ever want. You can have more wind than you probably ever wanted.

00:46 That, you can take, you can turn a vulnerability into a competitive advantage.

00:53 And in doing so, attract the energy to the future.

00:56 This is one of the topics discussed by the U.S. Undersecretary of State for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment, Jose Fernandez,

01:05 when he was able to help officials from the Department of Energy.

01:08 But what if there are storms and there's no sun or no wind?

01:13 Fernandez says there's a solution for that.

01:17 Battery storage, that's also part of the solution.

01:20 Renewable energy is not just a solution to a large-scale brownout.

01:25 It's also a solution for more companies in America and other countries to move to the Philippines,

01:32 particularly in the semiconductor industry.

01:35 The Philippines and America first reached an agreement on a civil nuclear cooperation deal

01:42 signed when President Bongbong Marcos went to America and US President Joe Biden was in the lead.

01:49 The talks on the civil nuclear cooperation deal between the two countries are now also in progress.
