00:00 A green sea turtle weighing 105 kilos was rescued from the sea of Dapitan City in Sambuanga del Norte.

00:10 The victim was caught by accident near the barangay Dawo and Polo of the residents of Efren Sidro,

00:17 which was quickly alerted by the Dapitan City Agriculture Office.

00:21 According to Ecosystem Management Specialist Rose Ann Belotendos of Centro, Pinan,

00:27 the turtle is a healthy species and therefore needs to be returned to the sea.

00:31 Green sea turtles are an endangered species that have an important role in our environment.

00:38 Belotendos identified the Dapitan Local Government Unit for its quick response to the turnover of turtles

00:47 that were caught in accidents, which has the highest record of rescuing a species.

00:55 We hope that the turtles will be able to turn over and then,

01:01 upon assessment, we will release them back to the marine natural resources,
