The Wensleydale Creamery has ‘exported’ an age-old Yorkshire cheese tradition to the heart of London to help highlight the economic and tasty benefits of the rural economy to the UK.

Proud Yorkshireman William Hague, MP, the Shadow Foreign Secretary, took part in the event to promote the virtues of eating Real Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese - accompanied by fruit cake!

The Wensleydale Creamery is based in his constituency in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and is one of the major employers in the area.

The reception, held at Claridge’s in London’s Mayfair, also showcased a range of Real Yorkshire Wensleydale Cheeses, handcrafted by The Wensleydale Creamery, which is based at Hawes, in Wensleydale.
