00:06 but as a fan. Because when it comes to supporting athletes who compete under

00:12 our flag, I am the cheerleader-in-chief, self-appointed. It is just fitting that

00:19 we are honoring our nation's para-athletes here in the Heroes Hall,

00:25 for this is what best describes what you are and who you are. To say that

00:32 para-athletes are of a different breed and made of harder stuff is an

00:36 understatement. Most athletes push themselves to meet the Olympic standards

00:41 of being faster, stronger. Para-athletes have to unchain themselves from even

00:47 stronger restraints, so you can soar higher, hurdle bigger obstacles, so you

00:52 can run faster, crush more powerful burdens that weigh you down, so that you

00:57 are in fact stronger. It is only fitting that apart from the thanks of a grateful

01:03 nation, we also present you with incentives to help you along. At alam

01:08 naman natin, napakaraming pangangailangan kapag tayo'y lumalaban dito sa mga international sports competition.

01:20 So as we hand these to you, remember that these are not merely

01:26 monetary tokens. They are symbols of the love of your countrymen and their

01:32 admiration for all the sacrifices that you have made for your country and for

01:37 your countrymen. So now I call on the PSC, as well as every sports association and

01:42 community in the country, to continue breaking barriers, challenging

01:46 stereotypes, building a nation where sports serve as an inclusive and

01:52 unifying force.
