Many Filipinos are looking forward to the first month of the year to celebrate the Fiesta Del Santo Niño in Pasay city.

That excitement is clearly seen in over five hundred images of the Santo Niño on display at the Cuneta Astrodome.

00:00 The image of the Santo Niño or the Child Jesus symbolizes hope and the birth of Christianity in the country for many Filipino Catholics.
00:09 But this is also a reminder of a miracle for some.

00:37 Santo Niño de Atocha is just one of over 500 images of the infant Jesus featured in an exhibit at the Coneta Astrodome in Pasay.
00:45 It opened to the public Thursday afternoon to also mark the start of the Fiesta del Santo Niño 2024.
00:52 On display are a great variety of images like the Santo Niño de Marino and even the Santo Niño fish vendor.
00:59 This is from all over Metro Manila and the neighboring provinces just like Cavite, Laguna, Bulacan.
01:11 There are devotees who do this year after year.
01:15 The exhibit will be open from 8 in the morning to 8 in the evening with a 9-day novena.
01:21 It will run until January 27th, a day before the grand procession.
01:25 According to Hans, nearly 200 carriages are registered for the procession which will start at the Pasay City Hall and end at Star City.
01:34 We started at 30 to 40 but now you can see the long procession every last Sunday of January along Rojas Boulevard, from Aro to Saloneta.
01:47 This is the grand procession of the Santo Niño.
01:50 Pasay Mayor Emi Kalik Sorubiano says road closures for the procession will be announced online within the week.
