00:00 One of the largest slums in the world is set for a redevelopment.
00:03 After more than two decades long of delay, the Dharavi slum in Mumbai is going to be
00:07 jointly redeveloped by the Adani group and the Maharashtra government.
00:12 The group won the bid in November of 2022 and has already hired a contractor to conceptualise
00:18 and design the plan.
00:21 We spoke to a few residents of Dharavi to understand the need of redevelopment and how
00:30 important it is for them to get new flats.
00:33 The eligible residents in Dharavi will get a minimum of 350 square feet.
00:38 That's the claim being made by Adani group.
00:40 This is about 17% extra from what is mandated by the government to provide urban housing
00:46 to the poor.
00:47 The flats will also include independent kitchens and toilets.
00:51 We have a problem with the bathroom.
