Ep 4: Fire & Brimstone. In this episode Father Duddleswell's fire and brimstone sermon at church has a profound effect on the parish - and not at all what he anticipated! In particular when Father Neil goes to teach to the children at church and discovers that one of the kids' grandfather is near death, but still estranged from the church. Things come to a head when a interfaith conference between the faiths in the town are called in over the crisis, with Mother Stephen and even Billy Buzzle deciding to turn up, if only to watch Father Duddleswell squirm...

Starring Arthur Lowe, Daniel Abineri, Gabrielle Daye, David Ryall, Sheila Keith, Patrick McAlinney, Pamela Ruddock, Caroline Goodman and Gerald Cross, who died before this episode was broadcast on July 26th 1981. But the main fun out of this episode is probably spotting some of the future Grange Hill kids at the Church lesson with Father Neil, which include Lee MacDonald (Zammo), Melissa Wilks (Jackie), Mark Burdis (Stewpot) and Mark Monero, who later appeared as Steve Elliott in EastEnders from 1991-1996.
