00:00 I was young and extremely ambitious and I think the ambition overrided all the
00:06 nerves. I just had a hunger and everyone had a hunger to announce
00:10 themselves on the world stage and you know a lot more eyes are on you and you
00:14 want to show the world how good you are and when you're that age you just want
00:18 to impress and your competitive spirit comes out and you want to just keep
00:23 living your dream. It's a pathway to achieving your biggest dreams and
00:27 we've seen that with the players that have come out of the U19 World Cup.
00:32 Great delivery he looks back so there was a bit of a tickle and Rabada
00:37 strikes for the first time this afternoon. I just remember that everyone
00:41 was really amped for that tournament. We went from playing against each other at
00:46 the provincial level to playing for South Africa and that meant a big deal
00:49 because we could represent South Africa that was a huge deal.
00:55 A standout memory I have of the tournament in the UAE is when we lifted
01:00 the the trophy when Bradley Dial hit the winning runs and then we all jumped off
01:06 the ledge and just ran onto the field.
01:10 One I do remember was when we played against the West Indies and everyone was
01:15 talking about Nicolas Poura and he drove me for a couple of boundaries and
01:20 you can see what he does. I remember Matthew Short, I remember
01:25 Shemron Hetmaia, I remember Imam Al-Haq, Kuldeep Yadav was there and of course
01:31 Shreyas Iyer was there too. Those are the names that stand out.
01:34 The message that I'd like to give them is it's a huge privilege and honor to
01:41 represent your country. As an individual it's a big big stage where you can
01:48 announce yourself and where you can prove you can dominate on the world
01:52 stage. I think you can expect to see some future stars and in amongst those future
01:58 stars you can see some future greats so you can you can claim to say that you
02:04 saw them first.
02:05 Under-19 Cricket World Cup champions.
